Greetings all,

I had been having a weird issue with Afterburner and my Vega 56 in that my power limit could only be set between -1 and 1 and Wattman would show -17410073 mhz for the memory. After reinstalling Win10 on a new drive, everything seemed to be working fine. I installed Afterburner and set it up how I normally do and then the power limit started doing the -1 to 1 thing again.

After some playing around, I figured out what it was. The power limit and mem frequency became an issue as soon as extend official overclocking limits was checked. If that remains unchecked, the power limit works fine. Figured I would share in case anyone else ran into this issue.

I had a problem where the pcie bus wouldnt ramp up, it was a setting i enabled and once i disabled it the bus started working properly again, this was in AB.

That is odd. Interestingly, uninstalling Afterburner did not solve the issue. Only reinstalling it and unchecking fixed it.

You should report this to the Afterburner author.

I stopped using AfterBurner altogether when I got my RX580 about a year ago. It would conflict with the WattMan settings and cause artefacts and hangs. I actually almost reinstalled it to try it again over the weekend to see if it had been fixed, but I'm glad I didn't.

I remember I fiddled with reinstalling and cleaning registry of any entries it made. In the end the only thing I could do was just use WattMan, which in itself works fine for OC.
