Hello everyone
I have a sapphire Vega 56
And I want to understand
With any possible
Manually activate the fan
I installed the Driver 18.9.1
I tried to enable settings
The manual fan
And I do not see any change
If AMD and have come out
The Vega card
No option to change manually
I also tried with MSI's software
Thank you very much

Try to change bios switch position and see it that makes difference.

The Sapphire Nitro cards are set to not turn the fan on unless the GPU hits 55 C. There is no software program that allows you to control the fans. The only work arounds as of right now are to flash the Bios, or install a water block. There is a newer version of TRIXX that works with Vega do a google search.

The only version of TriXX that worked with Vega was pulled I I don’t know how many times I have to say this I actually have a copy of it that I found in a far flung corner of the web. It is not readily available even with a google search.
The latest versions available is 6.4 the one that worked on Vega was 6.50 and good luck finding it.

Not sure which "google" you're using. But you might want to try another one. :wtf:

Ordinarily, I'd agree. But, in this case, it's Afterburner that sucks. Not just for being useless as far as custom fan profiles for Vega(which doesn't work at all). But also for not being able to overclock to the official max clock limits set by AMD in the BIOS. You can only go to 1980/1230 in AB. And the BIOS limits are 2400/1500. And "Extend official overclocking limits" and "unofficial overclocking mode" are both broken. Not that there are many cases where it matters much. I could probably clock my HBM2 to 1230. But it wouldn't be stable. It starts getting flaky around 1190+.

However, Trixx 6.5.0 seems to do all that correctly. The custom fan profile works, and the OC limits are actually slightly higher than the BIOS limits @ 2900/1500(well...the core clock limit is anyway).

I've been getting by with the SoftPowerPlay mod and OverdriveN on my Vega 64. It's good to know all your options though. The really useless POS is WattMan. Good for just about nothing. Except overvolting in combo with the SoftPowerPlay mod. Which works. But doesn't...really. Because you can't overvolt Vega and gain anything from it(on ambient cooling anyway).

EDIT: I forgot about the voltage thing with AB. Also not working correctly.

which version of AB are you using? Dont have a Vega 64 so i cant confirm your claims. I suspect voltage settings never did work on AMD cards.

But Trixx is still shit.

1st off this is funny /... go here and click on "AMD GPUs" ... 1st thing I see is RTX series cards. When i did find the Vega 64 cards, they all appear to be the reference design other then the hybrid, without which i would have to say why bother" updating AB. But there is that so not sure why AB doesn't address it. OTOH ... have you tried the latest beta ? These are made available thru Guru3D site

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html

"If you purchased a GeForce GTX 1050, 1060, 1070, 1080, Titan X, Tian Xp, Titan V (Volta) or AMD Radeon RX 5x0 and Vega graphics card we can recommend you to at least try out this latest release. "

Wow thanks Sherlock! If you’re stupid enough to actually use a tool that the manufacturer themselves have removed and actually have to search the web for well go right ahead. It has no proper fan control either FWIW. Without me giving the version number you would have gotten nowhere
