It's official Baldurs Gate 3!

It might not have been the best kept secret in the world but now it's ironclad official: Larian Studios, the creator of the superb Divinity: Original Sin role-playing games, is making Baldur's Gate 3.
It's been in development for a while - work was underway even before Divinity: Original Sin 2 shipped in September 2017 - but there's no word on when Baldur's Gate 3 will be released, and the only platforms Larian will talk about are PC and, wait for it, Google's stream-dream, Stadia.

You think? I reckon its going to be a 2020 release. You don't see 'leaks' like this much earlier prior to a launch. Can't keep it warm that long.

Keep in mind they started work 2 years ago. My money is on 2nd quarter next year.

I'm hoping this will launch by Xmas but next year is more likely. I hate it when games are announced more than 6 months before they ship. The hype builds so much they are always a let down.

I've got the game on my wish list on GoG. I've still got my original Baldur's Gate II big box copy - all the fun stuff that came inside, too. I've been eyeing Baldur's Gate II box that's sitting on the shelf for some time now....kind of itching to play it again.

Wish I still had the first Baldur's Gate game.....but it was one of the many games my younger brother ended up destroying after I moved out to college and he took it upon himself to dig through my packed up stuff. He took all the PC games I had boxed away, installed them on his computer when he wanted to play, tossed the game boxes, jewel cases, manuals, art work and everything else on the floor....things got crushed, ripped, scratched......it still makes me sad when I think about it.

So many awesome, classic games gone. I was so pissed.

Black & White
Blood
Blood 2: The Chosen (I was able to salvage the game disc and box, but user manual was destroyed and the disc was scratched to hell, thankfully it still worked)
WarCraft
WarCraft 2 (I was able to salvage the game disc, still have it somewhere.....)
Thief (only the disc survived)
Half-Life (jewel case was smashed, but box, disc and manual were all okay - I still have this one in my game collection)
Giants Citizen Kabuto (I found a big box of it some years back and purchased it, but my original purchase was all ruined)
Star Wars games (Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter)

Those are the ones I recall off the top of my head, not to forget the first Baldur's Gate game..... Oh well.

I'm hoping that the #3 coming out stays true to the roots of the first two.

UI and color palette look extremely identical to DoS2, not sure about the color palette, feels off when i think about BG and the atmosphere in those games. Maybe they just havent really implemented these things yet.
