So I just picked up a ps3 with Uncharted, 007, and some paintball game... What are some good games out there that are relatively cheap to obtain whilst being entertaining as well? :rockout:

last time I checked most of those games are in the $50-$60 range, but I'll hit up ncaa 09 for sure! UFC looks good but need to wait till it drops in price. Was also thinking about getting GT5 (no one mentioned it, but I loved the previous ones)

thats about all I can think of for games you can buy at a store

PSN:
Final Fantasy 7
Super Stardust HD
Qore- not a game but if you subscribe you get games and entry to betas
Calling all cars
Pixel Junk Monsters

GTA 4 is a good game, and to be honest it gets boring after a while but I still see myself playing it a bunch, so maybe you'll feel the same.
and if you love racing games then GT5 is going to be great

The must own is GTA 4, try and pick that up used. Beyond that I love Battlefield Bad Company and motorstorm is a very good used buy also.

Don't forget about some old school PS2 games. Not sure if you have backwards Compat on your's but theres always:

God of War
FF10/12
Socom: Confrontation ISNT that bad but it still needs work and they are CONSTANTLY patching it. Big learning curve tho...takes a bit to get used to.
COD4..unless you have it on PC.

And the classics from the PSN.

Demon Soul's is coming in October should be good.

And LOTS on the way in 2010. I think 2010 is gonna be a great for all PS3 owners.

Burnout Paradise, its awesome!

And if you want to play some coop with a buddy who sits next to you and NOT over the interwebz (thats the thing that upsets me the most with the ps3: multiplayer is just online, with a few exceptions. We have real friends Sony, you know that?) check out Army of Two. Its a great game, and is hell of a lot of fun to play with a buddy (especially after a few beers).

I can also tell you to stay away from following games:
Baja Edge of Control. Altho it sounds like fun and promising, it completely sucks and looks like psx niveau.
Skate. Now, I'm not saying it sucks. But if you don't skate yourself and are easily frustrated, don't touch it.

What is PSN? (sorry, it's still in the mail, so I haven't played anything yet) What is little big planet all about??? I've heard of it, but don't get the idea... you create a creature and then what???

I don't think it is backwards compatabile... it was the newer 160GB. I saw that ffxiii is coming out, I LOVED that series. Thanks for all the responses guys! :respect:

If I do recall they are suppose to be making all the systems backwards compatible with PS2 games. Some coding change will allow ALL ps3's to be backwards Compatible. Expect it relatively soon...

PSN = Playstation Network/Playstation Store, it's just digital distribution (think of it like the PS3's equivalent to Steam, except you can also download movies)

I think what you're talking about with the avatars is Home

This wasn't announced anywhere.

But I'll second Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4. Haven't played any other console exclusives for it.

cheap console game? lol

Twisted Metal 2 in the PSN store is a good buy for $6 if you're feeling nostalgic, it was an impulse buy for me.
