, Hello, I need help buying a xeon e5645 and I want to use it on my x58 motherboard, but I need to update the bios, the question is how I do it. I put the files of the bios mod on a pendrive, I put this same as boot and it tells me "it does not have a version of windows executable" the mb does not have the option of qflash. I appreciate any help. greetings from Argentina!

You need to create a DOS bootable USB Drive and boot from that, flashing with the provided files once that's loaded
You cant boot from a BIOS file, and you cant run DOS files from within windows

1. use rufus to create a bootable DOS flash drive (google for rufus and the dos files)
1a. copy the BIOS files from DFI to the USB drive
2. reboot and boot from the USB
3. run whatever flash tool they provide

This is an old motherboard originally designed to be BIOS flashed from a DOS floppy disk

thanks bro, update the bios, perfectly, now the problem is that it still does not give video, and on the screen of the mother there is only a red dot. the micro heats up, and everything works fine but does not give video with the xeon

If it works with another CPU but not the xeon, then either that BIOS doesnt support xeons or that xeon is faulty

I saw that a person asked him if a xeon was compatible on this motherboard, and in the DFI email they said yes. if I ask them if they pass me a bios they will laugh at me hhahah, with trying I don't lose anything

Mussels nailed it.
If it's not working then it's either a CPU support issue or the CPU itself has a probem but I doubt the latter.
To make things easier, the OP can get one of these and get it done. NANO BIOS Programmer / 24Cxx(I2C EEPROM) Programmer | eBay

I believe the BIOS chip to that board can be flashed by it.
Just need to be sure the board has the correct type BIOS chip this tool can flash (It should) and the flash can be done since it's independent of an OS.
Note that it only works with a 32 bit OS (XP works fine and suggested for it) since there are no 64 bit drivers for it, the drivers/program itself are on the listing page, just need to scroll down until you see them.
Download, install and it's good to go.
BTW make sure to create a backup file of the BIOS currently on the chip "Just in case".

Xeons don't work on Lanparty X58 series.

Best solution is to get a used ASUS P6T or GA-X58A-UD3R from eBay. These sell for 100 bucks from Chinese sellers.
