Laptop driver/reformat question

I'm looking to reformat my laptop's HDD with a clean windows 7 install. I don't have any driver cds though. Does anybody know where to get all of them (bluetooth, internet, etc)? It's a Dell Inspiron 1564. Thanks.

Thank you for that. I just found it right before you posted. There are so many options. I know I need audio, bluetooth, ethernet, wifi module drivers. I also got the trackpad one. Do I need BIOS, chipset, cpu, or dvdrw drivers?

likely you will need the chipset, LAN, audio. Most pads will work by default, but even just chipset and LAN should get you online to search makers sites for audio and stuff. Windows update will also find a lot of the drivers you need

Check this out, it will run after you reinstall windows and identify which models and chipsets you have installed that windows cannot get drivers for automatically.

Soon as you install the LAN drivers, windows will do the rest for you (well most of it anyway)

This is excellent advice. Writing down the list of installed devices prior to re-formatting will save you a lot of heartache. With that list, you won't have to try to figure out exactly which wireless card or web cam driver you need since there will likely be several to choose from.
