You can access the internet perfectly well on a tablet, so that is pretty much a non issue as anything can do it. The photo editing on the other hand could be, but it depends if she is doing it professionally and using things like Adobe Photoshop, or just doing the odd holiday snap in GIMP. As it is such a cheap laptop, I'll going to guess at it being the latter :)

Again, for this pretty much anything will do. They key things wouldn't be what you'd usually look for in a laptop (such as portability, size, weight, battery power) - instead they'd be the opposite! You'd likely want something with a larger screen and good resolution. You'd also want at least 4 GB RAM and a decent additional mouse. Editing on touchpads is a painful experience...

Photo editing on a laptop is not such a good idea, one of the main reason being laptop screens are pretty horrible when it comes to colour reproduction. That said, I think any i or A processor would be fine. My pick will be Dell 15, Lenovo G580, Asus K55 depending on price

+1 Agree entirely here.
I have also heard good things about the Lenovo G580. Cant speak on behalf of the others though.
