laptop issue

Hey everybody,
I need help on a recent problem with my laptop. It's an acer aspire one 722 with the AMD C-60 APU. As soon as I press the power button to switch it on, it does that, but weird white lines keep appearing, and then the screen washes out in white. This keeps happening (weird random colors, mostly white) blocking the screen.

I can see what's happening in the background through some lines. Windows does run and all, and it's way too slow as well. Can anyone help me diagnose the issue? I have certain possibilities singled out:

1. Probably a RAM issue;
2. (Hopefully not) an LCD problem;
3. Least likely and worst possible, the APU graphics have screwed up.

Thanks in advance, and any ideas?

Has the cable in the hinge been crimped from over use? I see a lot of that in my job.
Possibly gpu..
Would not think it was your ram.
I would definitely pull the front lcd bezel off and check the lcd cable where the hinge is and see if it is damaged.or as you open and shut your screen does it change at all?

Can you post a photo or video of the problem? Those lines you are mentioning about can be caused by various reasons but each can be identified.

If possible, connect an external display to the laptop to see if it still has the lines and white washout.
If it doesn't; then, it is probably not the gpu.

Also, blow any dust out of it... in case it is an over heating problem.
You may even need to open it up and replace the TIM and you can check the connections while in there.

Apologies for the late response. I came home late from my college.

I suppose it's not the cable, I hardly apply any pressure to that area of the laptop. I tried something immediately after asking this question. I tried my external monitor with the laptop, which was surprisingly what 95viper ended up suggesting. :D and yeah, I tried lightly tapping the screen from the back btw, it moved the lines a bit and at times, the screen would clear up, but would freeze again.

I'm posting two pictures here. I set it to duplicate the displays so you can see the difference between the 2 screens. I hope it helps to determine for sure whether my processor is dying or not. I doubt it now though. :/

those lines didn't appear on the external monitor. They appear again, when I change the display settings to only show display on the laptop. I cleaned it the other night when I posted here, there was hardly any dust there too. So it has to be the LCD that is giving me issues, I reckon.

I hope there's no rule as such to upload only with the attachment manager. It kept saying "Invalid file" when I pasted the link of either image.
Thanks for your ideas again people.

Seems like the cable is gone or the LCD itself. Have to check parts individually. The system is likely alright.

Thanks a lot. I suppose it is. Will have to get either of those things checked. I'll look up on the interwebs how to open up that panel and troubleshoot LCD problems. I appreciate all the solutions I've gotten.

Yeah. Happy to help. Another thing I would like to add. Sometimes, the LCD cable is often pitched with the hinge so badly that these types of problems occur. It happened with me in my laptop once around 3 months back and I fixed it.
