Laptop Pin port questions

So I completely disassembled my laptop, the mech15, and it turns out, it has a 40 display interface on the mobo, which means if I get the right cord, it should be able to take a 144hz panel, which is solely 40 pinned.

My concern with doing that is that same 40 pin port also is being occupied in use with the microphone and webcam along that same cable, which splits off as it gets to the panel with another flex cable and connects to webcam and mic. I assume because of this, I am limited to some 30 pins for display, even though there is potential to use a 40 interface. Interestingly enough, there is another port next to the 40 clamping port of the same type that should with the right cable, connect to the mic and webcam on the lid, though I am unsure of the name of the cable. If any of you know the name of the cable please tell me. Otherwise I think these two item will get the 144hz panel to work.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-1-14-15...Cable-40-Pin-Extension-Connector/272260521779 - cable isnt long enough, so this will be necessary.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lenovo...DS-EDP-Cable-00NY456-Touch-Model/282071717067 - took awhile to find, but I think this is the correctly fitting one.

So why not ask eluktronics? It would void warranty, and I can tell you they probably dont even know, and I could like find a duel cable with a 40 pin output. So would ordering these two items and the 40 pin panel even work? Or would I have to modfiy something to recognize it as such, because I assume lanes are dedicated to the webcam and mic.

Same connector =! same interface. It might be different now, but when I was messing with laptops it generally was not mix'n'match even if the connectors were the same.

However, some light googling tells me there's a 144hz model of that laptop? If so that panel might fit, if you can find it.

Judging by the IC next to the webcam, that extra bit on your cable that splits off is USB, as that's a USB camera controller.

As pointed out above, just because you have a certain type of connector in a laptop, doesn't mean it's wired up the same way as the same connector in a different laptop, even from the same brand. Display interfaces on laptops are a nightmare and can even differ in the same laptop if it uses different types of panels. LVDS is not using a standard connector, but what's worse, not even eDP is using a standard connector, something the industry had the chance to do, but chose not to.

And LVDS is a physical layer protocol, meaning anything can be transmittted over it.

The one with a 144hz monitor is the Mech-15 G2, a sort of successor, only with an i7-8750 and a 1060 gtx instead of this models 1070.
