It's cheap for a reason. It's definitely not nearly unused. They don't put these drives in laptops, so it lived somewhere else before it was in the laptop, and if it already has 5 bad sectors, it has been in use for a long long time before it went in that laptop.

LMAO... "4 weeks old", yeah right.

That's a drive that was in a datacenter and started to fail, was pulled and supposed to be scrapped, but made its way onto Ebay. The other possibility is that it's exhausted its write endurance on some cells and the "bad sectors" is the controller pulling in spare cells to cover for the exhausted ones.

either way, please post the TBW values for our lulz once you receive it. And remember: if it seems to good to be true, it always, always is.

worst case it was used sometime, and i got 7 PBW instead of 8, i am always careful and positive when online shopping, store has briliant feedback.
i intend to plant it in my business zbook laptop, also used from ebay, works great. i will post the s.m.a.r.t data of the drive. i am by no means impulsive and did my research, thanks for your input whether pro or con

Well, I received the drive yesterday, someone certainly will eat their hat, it has been used for only 29 days, performs great, indeed it shows 5 pending sectors, but otherwise the s.m.a.r.t data is clean, the drive performs well under usb 3 currently. I will check for intel enterprise utility for firmware updates, it does show health is 95%, i dont know based on what

Don't worry about others' opinions & enjoy your drive. I've bought several off ebay till it shut shop 3 years back here & they all worked great. The key is unarguably the seller ratings, they do tell a story.

You apparently didn't understand the gist of it, for someone trying to get rid of the drive because of <reasons> this price is still something & definitely more than just throwing it away in the trash. I'd suggest you download Intel SSD Toolbox just to check. Also CrystalDiskInfo, and check the "Total Host Reads" and "Total Host Writes".
