After getting Vista pretty early on, I was exceptionally disappointed with the initial forceware drivers...
My rig:
Pentium D805 @ 3.2GHz
1GB PC2-6400, clocking at 640MHz, 3-4-4-10
ASUS P5WD2-E Premium
GeForce 7900GTO (aka the GTX with a slower memory clock)
XP:
3DMarks - 9007
CPU Score - 7150
Microsoft WDM drivers that come with Vista:
3DMarks - 9007
CPU Score - 7150
Nvidia's early drivers:
3DMarks - 6391
CPU Score - 9048
Nvidia's 158.18:
3DMarks - 8202
CPU Score - 8912

So, they're finally getting close to the performance of XP - I'm pretty pleased with the CPU score though - up 2000pts There's definately more to be had though.
