Latest windows 10 updates causes my computer to go to CPU 100% and both Asus Ares 2 video cards to also go to 100%

Hi, I have a Rampage 5 extreme motherboard with the Core I7 5960X and 2 Asus Ares 3 dual GPU video cards in crossfire and I am running Windows 10 pro Enterprise. The latest updates caused both the CPU and both video cards to go to 100% and it stayed there greatly heating up the system. I could not bring up task manager to see what was causing that and I also could not un install those dam updates either. I had no choice but to spend the entire night formatting and reloading Windows. If anyone is able to through any light on this please let me know. I am so sick and tired of Microsoft constantly screwing this stuff up.

You'd probably fix most of your issues in general by getting rid of those cards. Crossfire is very much dead.

As for your updating, just don't update that far and wait for fixes.

When I bulit my system 8 years ago, it cost me well over 10,000 because at that time I had the income so why not but now things are quite different and I cant afford to upgrade squat and I would have built a new system long before now so I am stuck with making this thing work as long as possible. Aside from some of the newest games that I do not care for anyway, this computer runs at 5.00ghz 24/7 and in 8 years I have not had a single hardware issue and crossfire is still supported up to Amd video driver version 21.5.2 and it works well with every single racing game made to date which is all I care to do with it.. If I could I would sell this whole dam, thing today especially since I have had literally hundreds of people over the years wanting the video cards alone but I cant build so I need assistance to keep it going somewhat longer.

To me it looks like classic case of a mining trojan.

All you'd need to do is swap the cards. Depending on the buyer you could switch to a 3060 or higher from profits.

Hi, I am actually considering doing just that since there are no shortage of people still wanting these video cards. Thank you for your suggestion

Just make sure you have enough for a decent new card.

Actually I'd keep those as they're limited edition cards (only 500 made). At least I wouldn't sell those cheap.

Hi, I wont sell them separate. My entire system is now fairly dated and I have two fairly involved water cooling loops cooling everything and I am not about to start ripping it all all apart. If I was to ever sell anything it would only be the entire tower and even then it would only be if and when I had the money to build a new computer which at the present time is quite unlikely. Since I bought them, I have had well over 100 either different of same people using different names try and weasel them out of me and I have definitely got the impression that at least a few people out there seem to think these cards are very valuable or that they will become valuable because as you have said here, they are limited edition so who knows what this very crazy time and the future will bring in terms of collectors value. I will however say this as crazy as this might sound to some. I have always wanted to build the Intel 10980XE 18 core with the Asus Rampage Omega motherboard in a system with solid states drives and everything else in the tower that would be needed, although acquiring new video card would be an issue. If someone gives me enough money for either the video cards or the entire tower to be able to pay for what I just described, I would then probably sell all this but nothing short of this. Quite some time ago, someone did offer to pay $1000.00 for each video card so this is not as crazy as it may sound so who knows. As with everything else, only time will tell.
