LCD Monitor Problem

my problem is this when i what to play games my monitor Samsung SyncMaster 223BW after a period of 5 to 15 minutes goes in a standby state the screen goes black and the power led blinks i tried everything ,i have this problem only when i play games i can watch movies surf the net without haveing this problem .

Please somebody help my whit this problem :mad:

this is probably due to the graphics card overheating.

now my friend my grafic card temperature is normal 44 in idile and max 70 -71 in games after 2-3 hours of playing

It would be so much more helpful if you could give us your system specs.

Im guessing PSU might be a problem.

no, i do beleive the cause it, when your surfing the net or watching a movie, your pc gets a diffrent signal then when your playing a game, go into your computer options or tx options and change the standby time or completly shut this off, if your computer keeps running its no psu or graffic card. its something with the tv. are you running a hdmi cable or a pci cable

Never heard of that PSU

How old is it?

How much was it

And can you give us the info on the sticker on it.

Mainly the numbers of Amps on the 12v Rail(s)

And do you have the PCi-E power connector plugged in?

So its a budget PSU bascially.

It could well be that, although even a cheap 600W shouldnt struggle with a 3870. But its obviously not going to last all that long.

Have you got another (decent?) PSU you can test?

no i dont have another PSU , i done alot of test i run OCCTPT for the proccesor and FUR Rendering for the video card at the same time and the both CPU AND GPU were at 100% load for a couple of hours and there were no problems ,the temperatures were good no overheating

Doy ou have to reboot the PC when it happens?

Does it only do it in certain games?

Are you running the latest video/chipset/directx drivers, etc?

so far i have just 3 games ,call of juarez BIB <yes> ,Bionic Commando <yes> Terminator Salvation <NO>
yes--> i have to rebot
no--> game works normal
