As far as I know LED monitors have much better contrast then LCD and being more power efficient. Seing that the LED monitor is also cheaper I would say its a win-win:toast:

LED monitors use LED lighting. "Regular" LCD monitors use a CCFL bulb for lighting.

Personally i like LED backlit monitors better the color to me seems more vibrant without jacking up the brightness and contrast and they put out barely any heat and use much less power.

With LED you will see black blacks and white whites. With LCD black is a bit grey etc. I went over to 23" LED this summer, and im happy. Used to have 17" LCD. Once you will try it out, you'll never go back, thats the fact ! :)

I think its primarily choice of preference, don't think either of them is more hurtful to the eye than the other, but if you need pure image quality and sharp pictures IPS is the way to go, also takes some stress of the eyes..but the difference between LED and LCD when it comes to eye-stress, I doubt is significant

Brighter, better colors, more energy efficient(mine LCD 22" consumes around 45watts, LED23" takes around 25watts), doesn't heat up as much and thiner which leads to it being lighter as well.
