Doh :slap: the 512mb 8800GT has been out weeks, its in short supply at the moment but its out, this 256mb version is same as the 512mb version aside for the lower clocks on the memory which will easily clock up to the 512mb GT.

There is going to be a new 8800 GTS with 128 shaders, the GT only has 112. They are more or less the same, just the GTS will be a bit quicker.

There is already a 512MB GT out, the 256MB versions are new - AFAIK, this is the second one to be released. XFX was first.

Edit: and I think the GTS should be 512MB. Supposed to launch on December 11th.

The new 8800GTS based on the G92 is gonna have 128 stream processors, 16 ROPs, 650MHz core clock, 1625MHz shader clock, 512MB-1024MB VRAM at 1940MHz, 64 TMU's and TAU's (texture address units, finally found out what a TAU is), and 256-bit memory bus.

The new revised 8800GTS based on the G80 is only gonna happen to the 640MB versions.
