Leftover - Cheap Build (for the kids)

So I have parts left over from my recent upgrade, Parts listed bellow I am making my kids a rig with this, nothing fancy but something suitable for mild gaming (their 4 and 7) but love gaming as much as their Daddy, Also my wife may use it for some LAN play with me


So these are the parts I have left

• Antec 1200 Case (with fans)
  
• Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB 3
• Phenom II X6 1050T
  
• Corsair H50 Cooler
• 8Gb XMS 3 (Corsair DDR3) This is from my current rig, I am upgrading to 16Gb on mine
• 1Tb HDD (Hitachi, YUCK, but it'll do)

So, Obviously I will need the following (but I am on a budget)

PSU
GPU
RAM (for my new PC, thinking 16GB Corsair (HERE)

PSU, I was thinking this little beaut from Seasonic,

GPU is where I am stuck at, I can't decide between a R9 260/270, but I am set with ATI, it's a preference for me, I know Nv are good but I know ATI.

I am thinking it'll be a little monster of a rig, I'm going to clean up the old parts and the TIMon the Corsair could do with being replaced.

As far as your build and choices, here are my thoughts.

PSU choice is good, but if your want to save a couple bucks grab one of these:

Good bang for buck and honestly unless you really want a modular PSU for the cable savings put the money into something else. I have used these on many builds and they are great (cables a bit stiff).

With GPU what you have selected are huge differences in performance. The R7 260 is pretty low end as far as graphics go where as the R7 270 (or 270x) both are very good 1080p gaming cards and provide great game setting (high+) in AAA titles.

Still pretty good for 1080p but normally for gaming medium-high at 1080p.

As far as your ram goes that should be fine, but I would say I prefer the lower cas latency. 9 is normally what I shoot for in ram minimum unless I'm going crazy high speed (I run 16gb at 1866 with acs latency 8).

EVGA is good and the PSU's are good quality, but I don't blame you as I'm a bigger fan of modular myself. It's just these baby's are great value and very reliable from what I've seen/heard.

As for the GPU, it's a good choice in cooler and performance. I did notice for the same price you can grab the msi gaming card. So it's up to you on which you prefer, personally I would pick which ever has the highest core clocks as all the coolers perform just fine!

I saw the MSI one, Was thinking the Sapphire as I know the brand (I personally use Sapphire and have owned them for donkey years), trust them and the styling goes with the case/board (Blue)
