I am considering this - sitting my mobo on open air test bench (buying extended long cables for monitor and keyboard/mouse (bluetooth for controller so that won't be an issue most likely)

3 of these, 2 on the heatsink on the cpu in push pull - and one at the front blowing towards ram/vrm direction.

would be like a jet engine, but since the room next to me is just used to store christmas/easter etc stuff in plastic bins... I could put 2x HEPA air purifiers in there to help with dust, and crank those bad boys on a strong curve. lol i bet it would cooler better than any custom water cooling could dream of. especially since we keep our house at around 67 faren year round.

thoughts? sounds fun to me lol

How about a bunch of 4U rackmount cases full of GPUs and Delta fans in the garage during winter? I'd do this if I ever won the lottery or something... Each one would probably have a... whatever the best Ryzen chip I could get en masse, under whatever cooler I could fit.

These wouldn't be my primary computer I actively use all the time, though... but I could easily run my Plex server in such a setup. It would also be a good way to do a bunch of mining... but I might not care about that so much if I had that kind of money anyway. One might do mining, the others would probably be F@H.

My primary computer, right now, if I had that type of money, would probably be all custom water.

Just make sure to give these a very strong fan-controller or hook them directly to power.

I like the idea, but it probably will still be very audible if its just the next room. There is a reason you gotta wear hearing protection in data-centers. I'd rather try to move these in an enclosure outside of the house and noise dampen that box/room to not annoy neighbours.

I mean we are only talking 3 fans in my scenario, I think it would be fine honestly. I mean I would need 12 ft cables - and to dampen the tiny whole with foam, but the wall itself is thick enough can't hear anything in there. (fyi) i am not going to do this, i just saw those fans and it made me laugh a bit i didnt even realize they made 5200 rpm fans for pc's lol

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
If it was me, I'd build a box with fittings at either end for my air-source heatpump unit and plumb the box into the waste air path after the compressor/heat exchanger has taken heat out of it.

It's indoors, it's in a sound-insulated utility closet, the airflow at this point is already dust-filtered, and about 5C cooler than any indoor air, and the flow rate is around 300 cubic meters an hour (175cfm!)

Quite easy, get a chiller.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
I wouldn't expect this to be any different than cooling in your room, but allowing more noise.

I agree with theone... when he, essentially, says if you are going to do it, do it. A 5K RPM 38mm thick fan is still air cooling. It won't yield much if any more in the way of clocks...

That and I can only imagine a ghetto strip of wires going from room to room. Stay classy. :p
