Have tested your RAM? Memtest or others? Maybe one of your sticks is on it's way out. Have you tried with just 1 stick of ram?

Setup another copy of the OS on a seperate partition for testing. Install the basic drivers, or at least non -modded. Your saying it isn;t a driver issue but that seems the most likely.
Test just to rule it out 100%

I would bet that your issue is memory related, even though it looks to be fine. I've had issues like this before and it usually points to the memory. Do you have another set to try? You're right about the trfc, mines at 78 or something.

A couple of basic questions. Static read contol enabled/disabled? Execute bit enabled/disabled?

Also, the dram read training and mem oc charger. I don't really know what those do, I just leave them at default.

My P5Q-Pro is just a cruncher board so I havn't really messed with it much. You probably know more about it than I do. :D

static read disabled
execute bit disabled
read training disabled
mem oc charger enabled

I'm going to start with flashing all the way back to 703 to see if its the damn CPU M-E function.

I would try with execute bit enabled, seems to work better for me. What about another set of ram? Sometimes boards just don't like certain sticks. I also have a P5K-Premium and that board is a little picky with ram. A 2x1gb set of some real nice patriot that will run 550 no sweat on my gigabyte board, half the time wont even boot on the P5K.

was the BSOD

"RealTekHDAud.sys" or something like that?

if it is just uninstall and reinstall your audio drivers

used to happen to me while gaming, with no overclock at all

I have tested with all the RAM kits I have (4) still the same thing :( all kits are supposed to be compatible with the board too

I can't remember the exact error, just something to do with the Realtek driver. I may mod and try the 2.2 drivers, just in case theres something a bit off with the 2.18s.

Damn, I give up. Did you try dynamite  I really like the Asus boards, have had dozens of them, but lately I have been going with Gigabyte. Seem to be more trouble-free and I haven't had to rma a single one. Can't say the same for Asus.

Maybe the different drivers will do the trick.

lol not yet. ATM I rolled ALL the way back to 703m and am playing around with settings at stock, all seems to be good so far, mem OC charger is DEFFINATELY a option people should set to enabled in my experiences so far.

Audio driver from BSOD, Memory, or power IMO.

If memtest passes, memory can still be it..
If a cpu stress passes, its prolly not CPU.

I'd say Audio driver, or memory if its the overclock. Otherwise possibly look at the power provided, as Bioshock will push the videocard, memory, and CPU all at the same time, whereas memtest will not put that much stress on a PSU.

Or possibly an audio driver conflict with something else! :p

But its been about a year since I did some real troubleshooting.

audio driver, your moded drivers probbly react baddly to something certen games/apps do, or how they want to do them.

try using driver sweeper or driver cleaner remove all realtek drivers, and install the CLEAN unmoded 2.21 drivers :)

I'm using UD3P and I was getting some random BSOD although I passed prime95 / memtest for over 8 hours and I was still getting BSOD which only happen at windows startup, my solution was to change the performance level to 10 instead of 9. I would suggest you to try to play with your performance level settings.

My modded drivers are fine. I've been playing Bioshock for hours with everthing at stock settings :p One thing I have noticed though which is really quite odd, is how Bioshock would lag with BIOS 2002 and 2002m, but go back to 703m and that lag vanishes :wtf: I haven't been able to do much troubleshooting last few days as I've been trying to get my EEPROM programmer to play nice and flash some ROM chips, all of which turned out a utterly pointless waste of time as the programmer won't program the chips properly :banghead:

I think I isolated the cause of the instability, a combination of a memory timing the BIOS was adjusting by itself, and possibly a problem with the memory remap option and OS issue. All seems to be ok with 1004m, I will be trying a newer BIOS version soon to get my 500FSB back :D

From what I have heard 45nm CPUs can be some times like that. Working hours of hours and one of a sudden they know to crash. They are easier to overclock them to above 65nm counter parts but can`t be perfectly stable. And I have constant freezing on FF under Linux x64 and in the x86 XP and Vista x64 the system is perferectly stable gaming browsing etc.
