The Lexar NM700 SSD is based on a Marvell 88SS1092 controller, a refreshing change from all the Silicon Motion and Phison drives on the market. We're testing the NM700 on our updated Ryzen-based SSD bench, with several new and improved benchmarks.

I do trust Micron.
I do trust Crucial.
Not certain if I trust Lexar...but fortunately, Black Friday will have plenty of 1 and 2TB sized SSD for sale.

Hey ... new testbench and tests! :)
I don't envy you W1zzard tho, retesting all of those previous SSDs must've been a bitch ...

For the real-life tests, the biggest change is that we're now filling all drives up to 80% used capacity, to run in a more realistic scenario,
But hey ... I see my suggestion's made it! Neat! xd

(I presume you haven't tested the SK Hynix Gold P31 yet as it's missing from the comparison - as a non-US based tester probably figures as the P31's unavailable outside of the US as of right now.)

very nice review, looks like the Crucial P1 is superior overall. i think you can ditch the BL3 level loading test, obviously its not storage speed limited ;)

can anyone explain to me what is meant by "Weighted (QD1: 75%, QD2: 20%, QD4: 5%)"? :confused:

can anyone explain to me what is meant by "Weighted (QD1: 75%, QD2: 20%, QD4: 5%)"? :confused:
result = (QD1 * 0.75) + (QD2 * 0.2) + (QD4 * 0.05)

so the score is an average of mostly QD1, with a bit of QD2 and even less QD4. These weight factors were chosen to represent typical real-life consumer workloads

Really glad to see you guys using VMWare in these tests. Outside of large file copies, that is one places I see a big difference between my SATA SSDs and my m.2 Nothing like sitting there for 2 minutes watching a progress bar on a VM startup or snapshot with an SSD. Looks like there is a good bit of variation between different M.2 devices in your test as well.

That's exactly why I added this test ;)
