Lexar recalls memory sticks due to burn hazard

The devices are being recalled due to possible issues with overheating which could lead to burns and property damage. The recall affects around 66,000 units that were sold between April and May of 2006. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the devices and contact Lexar (via the web or by phone, (800) 248-2798) for replacement products. The following units are affected:

Lexar JumpDrive FireFly
  • 256MB (red) with P/Ns:JDFF256-431RU, JDFF256-264 & JDFF256-445RU
  • 512MB (lime green) with P/N: JDFF512-431EM
  • 1GB (blue) with P/N: JDFF1GB-431TO
  • 2GB (black) with P/N: JDFF2GB-431BK

JumpDrive Secure II 1GB
  • Part Numbers: JDSE1GB-00-500 Rev H, 3052-1GBA-2006, 3052-1GBA-2106, 3052-1GBA-1906, 3052-1GBA-1806

my lexar gets so hot i cooked food on it...
 
funny that that line of sticks is named firefly coincidence i think not:laugh:
