LG Display & AU Optronics Working on 480 Hz Gaming Panels

Yup that's the biggest problem so far. I wonder why OLED gaming monitors are still not produced.

Just find it weird.

A 480hz monitor would require average GTG at sub 2ms... Kind of pushing limitations here with legacy IPS and TN tech.

OLED is nice for response, but a PC monitor would inevitably burn in playing "x" game 2-3 hours a day. Mixed feelings on that and I'm sure companies don't want to deal with PR nightmares... TV's are understandable since they're a lot more dynamic depending on content.. Unless you watch a news channel 24/7 lol.

I do have a first gen 240hz TN monitor and can easily notice/feel when transitions get wacky. This was/is different than the VG248QE (First 1080p 144hz panel, kept transitions in check) and S2716DG (1440p 144hz. Also kept max GTG in check). The only significant benefit is latency.. it's a lot lower but I'm not sure if that's a good thing.. at least for older gamers like me who are used to 120hz delay from CRT days.
