LG Display, the world's leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that it has developed the world's first LCD panel for monitors featuring Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology in collaboration with Intel Corporation. This new 23.8-inch LCD panel is the latest improvement that allows users to stream wirelessly their laptop and desktop content to their TVs and monitors in a more seamless manner.

Whilst a good idea, I can see there being latency issues with this type of display, time will tell I guess.

I'd imagine it can't be no worse than gaming over a WIFI connection, or using a wireless mouse/HB

Probably in the tens of miliseconds at worst, shouldn't be a problem for anyone not gaming.

Samsung Syncmaster T27B750
A panel is not a monitor. The LG thing has the WiDi chip as part of the display controller, not as another PCB inside the monitor.

Agree with NdMk2o1o.
If your gaming you need latency to be sub 5 milliseconds
this Technology needs to mature before gamers take it up (along with intel graphics)
This Technology is probably aimed at Joe Average and corporate desktops
Its also going to be a Security nightmare !

I think the standard is like 6Gbits/sec or something like that over a 60Ghz frequency.... Not very long range though. I figure Amped will have something to help that tho LOL.
