Does anyone else here have this monitor?

I bought it locally, recently, and as I half expected I only got a cd with the driver, no manual and no detailed instructions. :ohwell:

I am pleased with the monitor as such, got nothing to complain about, but I don't know yet how to activate more than half the functions.

For example it's 3000:1 and it gets 5000:1 with DFC. I saw online that you can get the DFC while watching movies or gaming but I don't know how to activate it. I've pressed the 'engine' button and put it in movie mode (the picture gets brighter) but will that also enable the 5000:1 contrast ratio? I wish to use the monitor's max potential while gaming...

I've also not yet figured out how to do the ez zoom thing which supposedly reduces resolution to give a larger image at the press of a button... (I did press all the buttons actually  and no one-click gave me a zoom?)

I'd appreciate any help, I've been searching through online guides but there's nothing better than hearing feedback from guys who got the same monitor.

Thanks! :respect:

I think this is the newer model of this monitor that you have, this one

http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/l226wa.jhtml

I have one of the older ones that only do the 3000:1 ratio, haven't really played with many of the settings but dont think there is DFC on the older ones.

Okay, I've discovered that my ez zooming button doesn't work :ohwell: I might think about rma but I can live without it. (unless I'm missing out something here?)

I've got the monitor set to 1680x1050 native and when I press the zoom button nothing happens.

And the manual on their site doesn't show how to get into 5000:1 mode. I'm pretty sure I read that manual some weeks ago...

Also I found out that there are 3 models of the L226WTQ --- the BF, the PF and the SF.

I wonder what's the difference between the three? The online manual doesn't state anything either.

I haven't mine hooked up at the moment,it's on my other PC which is in bits at the moment

Will try out the zooming button later.I thought the SF,BF where the different coloured fascia's of the models.SF=Silver BF=Black not sure on that though.

Download forte manager to get ez zooming to work, all the monitor controls can be adjusted through forte manager.

To get the most out of your monitor, download it from here:

http://www.lge.com/products/sidemenu/list/normal lcd monitor_PRD|DWN_down|list.jhtml

good luck :toast:

EDIT: also if you're having ghosting issues then here's an easy fix:

1. Power off your monitor with POWER button

- Hold MENU button and keep it pressed while pressing POWER button to turn it back on

2. Press MENU button to enter Service menu

3. Change panel type

- Press SET button until PANEL text is yellow and press (-) two times to change it to LPL22W 4L

- Press MENU button to close the Service menu

When I put it at sRGB automatically the gamma goes up to 0 and I can't get it to -50 because it's greyed out

Edit: Though I don't really mind it, the blacks are better with gamma at 0. Oblivion in the dark was really really pitch black with gamma -50!
