Hi guys !
not even 3 years ago, I bought a LG oled cxpsa television.
I use it on average for 6-8 hours a day, gaming via PC, Netflix, Amazon. For a couple of weeks and a fucking green or transparent stripe has appeared on the top as in the photo. What the hell happened?
is there a solution?
thank u

if so, is there a solution?
I'd think short of warranty service, no.

Even if your warranty is expired, call and ask. They can sometimes be surprisingly generous for when a panel dies like this prematurely. There's no guarantee, but I've heard stories of them reaching out and helping beyond the warranty period if it's close.

A really good mate of mine has a CX 65 that outright died about 2 months ago, and well out of warranty LG did sort him out, well worth asking them and seeing what can be done.

My mate never had to, but had up his sleeve consumer law (in Australia) where we also consider the reasonable useful lifespan of a product, which iirc for a TV is something like 7 or 8 years, so depending on where you live, if you try nicely with LG and they don't want to play ball, you may find your countries consumer protection laws will compel them to sort it out, presuming it amounts to a significant / major defect.

@inter2010 as @R-T-B says looks like a panel defect.

@wolf nice, I am just lucy my LG CX 48inch haven't missed a single beep no matter if I use PS3, PS4 Pro, LG Eclair, blu-ray or Apple 4K TV (Gen2) it's rock solid and is in use every day and I am really happy with it just wish it was a bit bigger like 55inch but hey again I got it for half the price of what it was so I cannot argue with that.

@Shou Miko Nice! My mates CX, and getting to plug my 3080 rig into it at LAN's at his palce is what totally sold me (and him) to pick up the C2 42" as a gaming monitor and I frikken love it. I got a 5year warranty with it but hopefully never need to claim.

There should be a calibration mode in the setup menu. You can test red, green, blue, black and white screen uniformity somewhere in there. That should let you know if it's a screen issue or not. If it's not the panel malfunctioning then it's a board issue internally.

There are places online you can buy the boards from. Shopjimmy is one but there's a better one in Indiana. I'm not home at the moment and am on my phone so I can't give you the name now. If you're in the USA you can call them and they'll help you do a diagnosis. I'll post their info when I get home. Replacing boards is easy and a lot cheaper than replacing the entire TV.

@wolf I paid roughly about £530 for mine and normal price here was about £1000-1100 on sale which was the same price for the 55inch so I got a good bargain only minus was it was missing the box it just thrown out at the company who had it in their warehouse.

I do enjoy my oled everyday and I wouldn't go without it and my dad got the 65inch CX and he is happy with it for tv, movies and everything even we do use his Google Chrome with TV for HDR content because he got a older i5-6500 usff thinkcentre which doesn't support all this.
