Lian Li brazenly enters the all-in-one liquid cooler market with their Galahad 240. Featuring a brushed aluminium radiator shroud along with a white and silver design, it certainly stands out visually. It's not only pretty looks, performance is quite compelling as well.

Just a nit pick, perfect GPU clearance and easy to install, if you don't mind the radiator being upside down with the hoses at the top.
I understand it's case specific in this circumstance due to the length of the hoses, but I would rather it mounted horizontally or with the hoses at the base of the radiator if vertical.

If hoses would be at the base of the radiator (vertical) then it would be below the pump and that's not good for the unit.

Everyone i've heard so far says that if the hoses are at the bottom, then the air inside the unit would be at the top of the radiator and thus it would never be sucked in by the pump.

maybe it looks good but it is way too loud
By default yes but with the fan profile set by the user and with noise levels limited to around 45-46 dBA temps increased by just 2C in the FPU load test. Which when looking at the majority of results means the cooler offered good noise optimized performance.

Performance is great for a first entry into this crowded market, but I really hate the aluminium/chrome, it's just jarring next to the white.

Any idea who makes the fans? I assume it's not Lian-Li themselves, they just slapped their logo on 'em.

Untrue.

45dBA is like a Jet, Arctic at 100% fan speed is just 42dBA

And this is bullshit, Different DBA meters = different noise levels / distance etc all play into the noise levels. In my testing 45 to 46 dBA is at 30 CM on an open chassis ie 1 ft away. With a side panel in place those noise levels drop about 2 dBA. Move out to 2 ft or 60 cm and guess what it drops again. On my test bench with the distance at which I measure. 45 dBA is fairly quiet overall and a cooler isn't going to peg 100% all the time either.

THe NH-U12A is 45 dBA, the NH-D15 is 43 dBA.The NH-U12A is considered a fairly quiet cooler by the majority of reviewers.Temps yeah you can use that data to extrapolate where a cooler should be performance wise via a number of reviews. But in terms of noise output unless everything is tested the same your 42 dBA claim is essentially worthless.

For example using Gamers Nexus as a base they did noise normalized testing at 35 dBA with the NH-D15 being at 1020 RPM, I got 36 dBA at around 800 RPM in my testing but they test at 20" to my 12" so comparing noise levels from other reviews is essentially worthless. The only thing that can be compared with noise levels is where the coolers fall in relation to each other.

ok, i get it, different methods. Still in my book 45dBA is loud.

I'm thorned between this new Lian Li Galahad 360 - in this case I wouldn't need to do any changes to my setup (Lian Li pc-011 Air - 3 front and 3 side intakes) and Arctic Liquid Freezer 360, the problem with Arctic is it is thick like a brick, with it mounted as top exhaust I'll have to drop front intake fans from 3 to 2.
