List of ASRock's Upcoming Z790 and H770 Motherboards Leak

Although Intel's 13th generation of Core CPUs—codenamed Raptor Lake—aren't expected to launch until sometime in September or October this year, details of some of ASRock's motherboards for the new CPUs have leaked. ASRock is preparing to launch at least nine Z790 and three H770 motherboards, of which at least four will have support for DDR4 memory, according to VideoCardz. The list is missing a flagship Aqua model, but contains Taichi, Pro RS, Phantom Gaming Lightning and Riptide models, as well as a Steel Legend H770 boards and a couple of -C models, which are likely budget boards, despite being based on the Z790 chipset.

There will be a microATX Phantom Gaming Lighting board with DDR4 and a Phantom Gaming Riptide model with DDR5 support. So far no other features have been reported and from our understanding, the Z790 won't differ hugely from the Z690 chipset. The extra PCIe lanes from the 13th gen Core CPUs are expected to support PCIe 5.0 this time around, which will allow for faster NVMe based M.2 drives to be used. Intel is not planning on integrating Thunderbolt 4 support in these CPUs based on available information.

This leak might not include everything. Current Alder Lake has H610, B660, H670, Q670, Z690 and W680 available and I expect that Raptor Lake will have as many in the end.

not really. there was no H71, Asrock just invented a new way to sell H61 under H71 name. They should just scrap everything that is incompatible with meteor arrow and lunar lakes instead of making a complete line of obsoleted e-wastes.

I don't know why I missed this, I had no idea that 13th gen Intel was coming same time as new Zen 4 chips this year... will be interesting reviews this winter time.

I am still going to go with Intel KF processor, I don't want integrated graphics, and I am firm on that based on past experience.

I most likely will go with RDNA3 GPU though, mainly out of respect, without AMD the gpu gaming industry would have died. Long live AMD and long live competition!

Shouldn't it be B770 and H710 ?

Z790 should be first since it supports unlocked multi. H710 is a stripped down H770 (w/its full compliment of I/Os)
so "flagship boards" for unlocked and locked CPUs.

LOL Raptor Lake's initial launch is a hard paper launch. Already known it's December for real CPU's to start appearing and volume shipping not until Q1 2023. You media guys just lap up Intel's BS. Maybe we need a story about Meteor Lake shipping date next.

No, it means you have to buy one or the other. No board will have support for both types of memory.

It's also nice to get bashed by some random person in a forum, that have zero credentials. I've done this for well over a decade and if you somehow missed it, I've lived in Taiwan for the past 15 years and know people all over in the industry. It's possible that maybe, just maybe, I get information straight from various partners here from time to time. But no, now I'm an Intel fanboi, because you say so

This is from those sources you seem to know. Same one's Moore's Law and others have as sources no doubt. I guess the Sapphire Rapids delay is made up too. And where is ARC and where is Ponte Vecchio, still barely in use. Intel has form, it's nothing to do with being a fanboy. Their timetable is slipping as everyone expected.

It seems you are browsing the news posts through the forum. This is not the intended usage model-- you're supposed to read them on the main site.

People kept asking for the original text in the first post, so I added that, then there were issues with the source links "missing", so I added a link back to the main post. The problem is that the forum doesn't have access to the source information, it's in a different database.

Huh? I talk directly to manufacturers. Why would I rely on third party information?
Did you perchance read my USB4 article and saw the pictures from ASMedia that no single other media outlet in the world has? That was only possible because of my personal connections with someone very high up in the company. So yeah, I actually know people here on a personal level that works in the industry and I get told things that I shouldn't be told and I get shown things I should be shown. Do I write about all of it? Hell no, as that could put those people in trouble and I would never do that.
I can only go by the planned release dates that the likes of AMD, Intel and Nvidia shares with its partners, since that's the information I have at hand and according to that, AMD was meant to launch AM5 at the end of August, but pushed it back about three weeks. Intel is October right now, but things might change. The reason why their partners need to know these things might, just maybe, be related to production and shipping times, so you can buy a motherboard to go with your new shiny CPU when they launch... But I guess you didn't think about that...

I should have reworded my post as I meant consumers will have a choice of DDR4 boards and DDR5 boards.
