Well, so AMD confirmed there is NO gaming performance difference between Pro mode and gaming mode. That is a big blow.

OK now they are logging the GPU speed to see the clock rate consistency.

It breaks my heart... to see the GTX 980 Ti benched at such low clocks before ninja deletes kick in.

As for Vega... whatever. Pascal is fast, efficient and boring according to some here, but then it's year old already so it deserves a quiet life.

He keeps pulling up Titan xp numbers that don't align with release numbers, but unless AMD shows or tells us something about Vega RX, I will be running Ryzen and a 1080Ti. Sell my AMD stock and buy Nvidia, its not like they have worse Video performance anymore.

Air cooled Vega throttles down with stock fan profile and 50 seconds hitting 300W TDP -> slower than GTX 1080 on average. Expect about 10% boost with better cooling solutions and catch up with GTX 1080 when GPU runs at constant 1600MHz.

E: And here at 100% fan speed, to show that it is thermal related throttling

Most Aib 1080tis pull 250 ,its high though just a big gpu with more tech to do memory related stuff, it's got a cost , hopefully their driver team can pull some magic out their asses before the consumer launch.

Main benefit of HBCC comes in large data set compute tasks or when you have very small amount of VRAM available. 8GB/16GB is more than enough for gaming, so not supposed to do miracles there.
May make bigger difference if we ever get 4GB vega variant.

Anyone want to wager the "gaming" Vega only had 4GB of memory or 8GB of GDDR5X?

With how they are touting the 100 plus TB of addressable storage perhaps they are more meant for 4K+ workflows.

That part was when he ran Metro Last Light for power draw he said it was 285 and went to 240 and was wondering why it was doing so.

I don't think I understand why everyone is so angry, doesn't new architecture always needs updates to make them good/playable? seems to me that the only thing thats screwy is the power draw and the price
