I am moving my MX518 to another rig and have settled on replacing it with a Logitech G500. The best price I've found for one is $52 shipped. Considered buying Fits' G9x but I like the MX518/G500 shape and the on-the-fly adjustable dpi. Am open to other suggestions that you think would work well for me. Anyone know if there are certain revisions/versions I should look for and if so, how to identify them?

Stipulations
· I couldn't care less how it looks
· Must have zero functional flaws

Shipping is to 55342 and there's no rush. Just looking to see if anyone has one they'd be willing to sell cheaper than I can find elsewhere. Can pay via PayPal immediately.

Thanks, does the G9x too then? I was looking at the Newegg product pages for them and didn't see that listed in the features—perhaps I'm just too tired, or is it listed by another name? I wonder how hard it would be for me to get used to the G9x shape....

I am not too sure whether the G9x have on the fly dpi change, but the G9 had them. Also, if you are looking at buying the G500 @ $52, might as well get Fit's G9x.

If anyone can confirm on-the-fly adjustable dpi on the G9x I may go ahead and do that. Anyone have insights on the ergonomics going from MX518 to G9x?

afaik the 'x' in the G9x was nothing more then a sign to show that they improved some cosmetic issues that the original G9 had.

stuff like the mouse treads kept coming off & the shape of the grips or something.

.:Edit:.

The only change in the G9x is a new laser sensor that is capable of 5000dpi, has a tracking speed of up to 150 inches/second (depending on the surface used) and works at up to 30g of acceleration. That compares to the G9 with its 3200dpi laser engine, maximum tracking speed of 65 inches/second and maximum of 20g. Both sensors have a polling rate of 1000Hz, or 1/1000th of a second between scans.

Just a quick post to say thanks to those who helped me out. I got Fits' G9x and all is good. I like the shape just fine and all the features I want are there. :toast:
