I been looking at 4K monitors with "DisplayHDR400" because anything more is higher price and I kinda fallen for the Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ it's ridiculously priced at about £819 / 1028USD.

Link: https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-Strix-XG27UQ/

Is it worth the high price is my question because It got G-Sync, it's 144hz at 4K and yes I know the chroma subsampling wil be like 4:2:2 if I go over 120hz but I could leave it at 120hz and I should get 4:4:4.

I want the resolution of 4K because it gives me better work space when I research from home, watch movies and HDR could be nice to try in the PC games that supports it.

Only thing I am not sure if I can leave with is the "thick" bezels but I guess that being quantum-dot ips I have to get use to them bezels and I know it's not a new monitor anymore being released back in Q4 2019.

If anything have this screen and can give some thing thoughts about it I would be happy.

I am really sorry for the mix up.

I guess I am still tired even I am at work :banghead:

I'm still waiting for Nixeus to receive shipments of these (delayed because of COVID-19):
It's not quite HDR 400. It can burst up to that but the average is closer to 380.

You'd have to run it at 120 Hz with a 1080 Ti. Only Turing and Navi support DP 1.4 w/ Display Stream Compression to hit 144 Hz. HDMI is limited to 60 Hz.

120 Hz 4:4:4 is better than 144 Hz 4:2:2

The TFTCentral review has a lot of praise for it. And knowing all the content that has come out of TFT over the years, they could publish a comprehensive review of my eyeballs and I'd take their word for it. https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus_rog_swift_pg27uq.htm

Colour accuracy out of Asus has been surprisingly good as of late, despite the PG27UQ and PG279Q being "gaming" monitors where most users couldn't care less whether deltaE is in spec or not. Colour temperature seems normal as well, which some 27" 1440p and 4K monitors have had inexplicable issues lately. As far as I can tell, HDR performance is decent with most local dimming panels, just make sure you have the select few games that implement it.

That's a lot of money to be dropping on a monitor that doesn't offer any visual features beyond a decent sRGB calibration, an alternate wider-than-sRGB mode, and high refresh, though. I've also had quite a few 27" panels now, and I've fallen out of love with 27-28" 4K, where as I've only gotten more and more cozy with 27" 1440p. It just isn't great. Bigger than 27" is just a more comfortable place for 4K. For that amount of money, I'd also want to enjoy a higher standard of panel uniformity that ensures I wouldn't have to return it for easily avoidable uniformity issues like every other panel on the market, but sadly that probably isn't the case, since this isn't a ProArt or anything.

The idea that 4K maximizes your workspace works out only if aligned with a similar increase in screen size to the aforementioned 30"+. At 27", you'll either be increasing scaling to the point where a 1440p would work just the same, or squinting a bit to see things. Not quite as bad as 3840 x 2160 at 24", but not quite ideal.

I'm guessing you're using your 1080 Ti for games, yeah? I hope you're playing chill, older and less demanding games because that card won't be your ticket to consistent high refresh 4K. Admittedly, high refresh has some visual benefits outside of games too, but...

All this other stuff can be easily overcome with an ambitious desire to have 4K over everything else, but the deal-breaker for me is that 3840 x 2160 resolution simply doesn't downscale properly to 2560 x 1440 without everything becoming horribly blurry. So you'd have to be 100% certain that you can push high refresh at 4K, because going down to 1440p just to get more FPS is a frustrating experience.

Also, how do you feel about that tiny fan on the back? I hope you usually sit at your computer with headphones on so you won't hear it.

Not a brand I think I would ever find in stores here sadly so no.

@tabascosauz I don't need Ultra settings most games looks great af medium/high or custom settings.

My GTX 1080 Ti FE are still going strong with the EVGA Hybrid solution haven't been happier with any cards I had before this even MSI's TwinFrozr cooler is good but this here doesn't make a hell of noise and is still keep and exhaust all heat out of my case with airflow around the pump and so on.
