I found this interesting thing at a semi-bargain price  ...

And also this one ...
My budget is around 225$ Canadian for CPU + GPU cooling through water. Looking at something like a 300+ Galons per hour performance from the pump at least, and q really free flowing copper tubing in radiator. If anyone has a better solution for me, I'm ready. Thinking of ordering the cooling system next week or max in 2 weeks.

Will let you know when it's installed for performance. Irm already quite overclocked (from sig), but I want 3Ghz from my CPU and around 600 mhz from the R480 gpu :rockout: .

I don't mind buying seperate components like an Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme II (maybe too big, but I wouldn't mind trilling in my side pannel...)....

Later I'll take care of the memory... Thinking of OCZ / CURCIAL / CORSAIR .... ;)

XSPC thing is not good...

The first link you posted doesn't work.

If you want water, it has to be done properly, i.e. do not be scared to invest, its worth it in the end.

What I would reccomend:

Swiftech Storm (DO NOT GET APO(L)OGEE)
Cooltechnica MP-1 GPU WB
BIX2/PA120.2
Swiftech MCP665/Laing D5
T Line (or res)
Tubing Tygon or Clearflex

Cheaper perhaps:

DD TDX ($48)
Maze 4 Acetal Low Profile ($58)
Swiftech MCP665($109)
Heatercore (depends on how much you can get it for, so perhaps for free)
T Line
Tubing

Tell me if this is too expensive, I can draw up some other setups...

For now really, I can't say this is exactly what I was looking for. Once I saw this thing, a submercible pump in the fill tank on 12V, with a NexXxoS Xtreme II, I tought that was an awesome combo, and then tought I could add a DD for GPU / CPU .... But really the bottom line I feel is cost, because I haven't yet installed my second SATA 2 HDD for RAID 0 + 1 which is really something I have to do. So cost is definately a factor. I wouldn't pay more than say 60£ for the radiator, I think 120$ is a little abusive.....

Alright, if I was you, I'd either look for something second hand, or stick to air for the moment.

there are intro kits for the first time watercooler. I wouldn't recomedn anythign too complicated as we are talking the fate of your system in your water-unexperienced hands lol.
not sure of the exact exchange rate but i pretty sure 100$ u.s. id within your price range.
thus any kingwin system either the older or newer version will be an easy install and work quite well. aside from that theres the thermaltake bigwater 745.
unfortunatly your range is limited to prebuilts so if you are looking for higherend performance you'll need to save up at least 130lbs for a long lasting high performing water system.

OK found images of what I'm interested in!!!!

I'll try to talk to this guy see where he got his pump and if the submercible pump works!

You've got to admire the solution found to cool off the mobo and leave room for the graphics card!

Looks like idea is just same what i'm using.

WaterChill Antarctica CPU block
Aquagrtix X800 for GPU
Alphacool NexXxoS NBX-SLi Block for NB. (it's installed wrong. Right way is rotate it 180°. so tubing is above vgacard then SLI configuration is possible.)

You know what I find interesting overall with watercooling: If ever there is to be a leak from the tubing, the component that has the most chances of being targeted is the graphics card

But that won't stop me. I don't think there is a pump strong enough to burst these tubing & connexions.

D_o_S Do you think having the water connection bridge to two then back to one is a good idea?

I think Lekamies setup is a genius work of art. But I maybe if I get a view of the rest of the system I might change opinion :p

AQUARIUM pump

I know there are several submercible aquarium type pumps available that work on 12V (mostly). ANyoen thin kit's a good Idea to glue on on the bottomd of the inside case? :p

LOL WHY NOT!!!!

Oh, it's true, you'd need to put it in something...... Maybe a TT 2 x 5 1/4 tank thingy (?).... Drill a hole and slap it in and then put silicon

I really like this model!!!!

This is even better than I anticipated, a tank/pump thingy!!!

True! ;) when i used water connection bridge after cpu and before gpu, my graphics card get wet tree times! And every time it was my own fault! :D

It depends few things....

In my case it's good and working idea, because gpu & nb blocks has tighter water canals than CPU block or tubing are. if i count gpu+nb water canals = CPU Water canals, so there are no holdbacks for waterflow. Only annoying thing was getting air out of system.

Thanks. Few things like roof, etc... is missing at my case so it's incomplete...

So water goes: pump -> radiator -> cpu -> gpu+nb -> watercontainer -> pump....

Generally, I would not reccomend this, if you mean having the water going to the CPU and GPU at the same time (i.e having Y pieces)... just stick to series, so RAD->CPU->GPU->Res/T Line->Pump (loop order does not matter a lot, so which ever way looks best)

_33, DO NOT get the first pump you posted! I hope you haven't already... there is a simple reason I would not reccomend it - it has a heat dump of 35W - this is way too much without a good rad, and I suppose you'll be going for a 1x120mm rad to start of with...

A cheaper setup:
Eheim 1048
Alphacool Nexxxos XP (those are the blocks you posted in your first pic)
Black Ice Extreme/Thermochill PA series
Innovatek plug on res/a T Line will do

Just remember, when looking for a pump, make sure it has:
[/list]
[*]Low heat dump (less than 10W)
[*]High head pressure (more than 1.5m)
[*]Flow rate does not really matter, as long as its above 400l/hr or so (of course the more the better, but the above factors are more important)

OK found the submercible pump of my dreams!!!

This time, it's really the one I have been seeing around that really cought my eye:

Reservoir & AGB-Eheim 600 Station

Second model is from Alphacool. Here's a more detailed description, from a germain site!

Now looking for a north-american availability :wtf:

I don't understand why can't they just plug the pump on a 12V from the PSU!!!! Oh.... Sorry, I just saw the molex connector

Eheim Station 600 vs Eheim Station 1000. I just love the way they fixed it up!!!

Thanks for advice! I've been looking at the Eheim 1048, but it seems to require a pump station for optimum setup. But I'll keep this model in mind.

check into hydors, all their models are submersible (as they were designed for aquariums)

You know I had this idea, if only they could develope a circuit to chill the water, that would be intensely awesome! Like having the water be at 5°c !!!

LET ME START A TREND!

Maybe it could replace a radiator?

Apparently the chiller draws 50 watts. But in such a case, it would have to be externally mounted I suppose. But if it can cool 6-8 °C off 10 gallons? I can imagine what it would do for PC cooling!!! I am positive, with this you can say "bye bye" to your radiator!

start? waterchillers (not the asetek wanabe's) have been around since computer have lol.
here's an actual good one, and one fo the few i've seen that doesn't require mositure control
(the pricipal that anytime you drop below ambient condensation develops with catastrophic side effects)

That is exactly how CRAY's are cooled! I know I written "want to start to do watercooling" kind of intro. But if I can jump directly to something consequent, I will do so! SPecially if the price is within range!

But really, the CPU is not the problem ATM it's the graphics card. So Watercooling to me means my X800 will run 20-25% faster and a little cooler, and that's my goal overall. If the A3000+ reaches 3Ghz and is cooler than the stock cooling unit, then I'm happy, and of course the mobo Nvidia 430 needs cooling as it runs at a constant 52°c.

I was also thinking of popping the hood of the A3000+ do decrease temp, but I don't yet need to do that.

How does 11$ cost and 80w 40mm by 40mm peltier sound?

First, get yourself a decent water cooling setup, or tell us what you really want. You have to remember that air-cooling a peltier (with good results) these days is impossible. Also keep in mind, that to run a pelt well, you will have to get a dedicated power supply (Meanwell, or something like that). Second, a pelt has to be higher rated than your CPU, and nowadays, 80W will not cut it. Look into something stronger, I'd reccomend something around 200W (or more). Also, you need to dissipate the heat of the pelt AND the CPU (so add the wattages together). Next, not any WC setup will let you run a pelt. The thing is, most of the new CPU water blocks feature "jet impignment" (search for it, don't feel like explaining it now), which cools a small area very well, but will not cool the whole pelt very well (it would only cool the center). In order to run a pelt, this block is good for example:

This block is ready to run, so it has a pelt, insulation, etc.

A write up about different types of cooling is coming, so hang in there...

You see the thing with my box is I have side ventright now. It's an 80mm running on the FAN2 control, which is variable/ It really cools off the cpu, additionally with the CPU's own cooling. Thoe, since I don't have a vent in the front of my system, the hot air from the HDD units stay in front and consequently, the only part of my system that stays cool is memory/cpu!!! Teh rest of the unit is quite hot. Today I'm gonna get a 120mm fan for the front of my system. I know with that, I'll never go wrong, even on watercooling. Opening the case ATM brings the temp of the GC down from it's 48/49, back to 44/45, just in a 10 minutes of fresh air... Anyway, just wanted to point this out.

Thanks ofr your patience with me D_o_S, yes that's quite some nice unit, and a nice sticker price too heheheh, if we compare with a regular block

Some guy on a message board has brought his X4800 X2 to 3.2Ghz everyday use with this peltier. But I guess it's also a question of stability and watercooling outfit.

Solution

I'll drop all of my ideas, and go with the Asetek WaterChill KT03-L20 Entry and add a GPU cooler and extra pipe, junction, and a 120mm fan for the radiator. I'l definately be around 200$ and probably will be happy with this.

Thanks all for patience!
