I am looking for a cheap upgrade, slightly above 400, but under 450. Is this a good deal

or maybe you guys can help me out, my limit is really 400 dollars. Just trying to save some money. I am looking to upgrade my Intel Celeron E3300 w/9800gt.

With the combo price already at $390, I'd say go to dumpster diving for a case and keep your 9800GT. I doubt you'll find something with only $10 of your budget left. Besides, the 9800GT is not that bad. What is your monitor's resolution?

Total $390 before any shipping hits. You can drop the price a little by using the MSI 750a board and Athlon II X4 640 combo at Newegg here. It has a $20 rebate on it plus the $13 from the combo discount. Would move it to about $368 before shipping and after all the rebates.

Didn't know if you wanted an SLI AMD board or not so I'd figure I would just throw that out there. With the MSI board and the rebate there are not really any mATX boards that compete on price not to mention they can't do any SLI/Crossfire in 99% of the time because of only having one PCIe slot.

if i was upgrading now, would only go with intel i5 2500k ,,more expensive but its better in the long run,,its faster clock for clock and overclockability is unmatched,, anyway seems like a decent deal

, ,check the reviews of each component seems like hdd has a high failure rate

I am not upgrading now, going back to prebuilts. But the only thing i needed to buy was a Intel Core i3-2100 cpu and a new mb and some ram sticks, thats all i needed it. That was going to cost me 253.

i would have a look at microcenter's offerings. right now they have pretty good deals on AMD's combos right now.
looks like you are set on HDD's so you would only have to add the ram
