Looking for a good placeholder card

I'm looking to take advantage of the opportunity and sell my 2070S Trio.Prices are soaring in PL and I think I may sell it used for more than what I paid new in August due to our currency being weak and gpu market slowing down.
I won't be playing any demanding AAA titles in the foreseeable future except for maybe epic freebies like GTA5 and KCD.
What should I get that won't lose much value when ampere launches but still can do 1440/60 fine at reduced details ?
Thinking of a 1070.
Radeon cards need not apply.

Seems to me like too much trouble for too little gain. Sounds like you want to sell your 2070S, pick up a weaker card, deal with a downgrade for a while, only to turn around and upgrade to Ampere later... and then sell the 1070Ti. Why wouldn't you just sell the 2070S when you upgrade?

it's one sexy card.and absolutely ridiculous noise levels for a gpu that packs the power of 1080Ti and RT hardware.can't hear it over D15S and case fans while gaming and still stays in low 60s.

I did a build with the 2080 super variant for someone and it also doesn't make hardly any noise runs a little warmer though around 68c but still excellent imo.

it's a beast,does 2100mhz stable as long as you crank up the fan.I'm talking 55-60% to keep 2100mhz + 15.9GHz memory oc stable in mid-50s.RTX load or normal,doesn't matter.This card is closer to CLC'd cards in coooling capabilities than it is to entry level AIBs.
but it's not for you,get one locally,zloty is too weak atm.I'd have to ask 600.

If you're going to make this a gain ,get a gtx1060 cheap, suffer a while using frame scaling when required.
They're more useable then you likely imagine.
And cheap.

Wouldn't make much sense unless you really get a lot more for it.
you will lose money selling the replacement, and of course the next card will probably not be cheaper either.

maybe a cheap 1070 hybrid?
i had a couple of different cards/brands, tested multiple setups (case/fan layout),
and the LC cards are the only ones that can keep the boost clocks.
yes, your card gets 2.1ghz, but i guarantee its not staying at that clock, definitely not once the card passes 44 maybe 54*C.

the "broken" 2080 i had for a few weeks was able to out-boost/outperform the air cooled 2080S clocking at 2.1,
even that the (AC) card was getting the best possible airflow scenario (240 rad on the side as exhaust, 3 front 140 as intake, 3 top/rear 140s as exhaust).

I was fine with the noise coming from the Asus/MSI/Zotac cards i had in the past few years,
and the MSIs usually are doing a tick better than others with dual fans,
but the hybrids are just unbeatable when it comes to keeping boost clocks up.

In all seriousness though, I'd hold onto it, if you can. Not just because it's a beast, but as far as I'm aware, MSI actually stopped making that specific 2070 Super, so it's also a bit of a rarity as well.

I would sell it off and get a el-cheapo 1650 Super since the budget Turing won't have a successor until next year, meaning you can sell the 1650S next year and won't lose much...

ain't nobody buying tho cause the price for new is horrendous.
I could sell a 10 month old card for more than I bought it.And a 2.1GHz sample ? Forget it.

I thought about selling cause prices are high and I ain't planning on buying new games.But yeah,this card is gonna hold value.

I may get RDR2 if I'm keeping it tho.I'll probably dump it a week before ampere is announced.Wouldn't really be into scheming a move a like that but I really do plan to big on ampere on launch,been sitting on 1080Ti performance since summer 2018,I'm done.
