Finally my 8800gts 320mb came home :D ...though I have to get a new psu for it :p
This is my setup, and err...I'm REALLY confused about the mobo choice :ohwell:

CPU- Core 2 Duo E6300 (have it)
GPU- 8800 GTS 320mb (have it but not plugged in)
Ram- Kingston 667mhz 2x1gb (have 1gb atm, another gig comin this week)
Cooling- Cooler Master Hyper TX (Artic is not needed atm, not in the mood  )

Case- Not decided yet...
PSU- Not decided yet...
Mobo- Not decided yet...

There are so many GOOD mobos to choose from now for the c2d platform :D
I don't have SLI in 1st priority but may do it later, so-so on this...
975X was really good but I need a lil cheaper in price than 975x :)
Some in my mind AND budget are-

Asus P5B Deluxe (Kickass perf./ oc'ing but which I had ordered, found to be DOA, so not a gd impression at first)
MSI P6N SLI Platinum (awesome stability, features, cooling, performance, BUT not an awesome oc'er for E6300. Bios updates will fix it for sure :), beautiful board )
Asus P5N-E ( Price/perf. justified, decent oc'er, and cheap, but not that beautiful)

P.s Using and Asus P5B w/ C2d rig, doesn't suck either lol, j/k
If you have any other ones in mind pls tell me :D

PLS HELP!! :)

wanna one-up all of the boards you have posted?
go with the Asus P5W DH Deluxe or Abit AW9D-MAX.
either way you'll love it, both are quad core compatible, dual PCI-E x16, and both can run sli. not to mention the overclocking you can do on both.

er...no offense, but did you even read my 1st post and other ones ?

I'll be one-post-and-clear this time :) -
1. NOT 975X, Already tried P5W DH Dlx, t'was gd enough but I'm going nVidia gpu this time ;) and P5WDH Dlx is officially a Xfire compat. mobo... I don't care if it 'can' somehow run SLI or not ;)
2. In near price of the 'boards I've listed' :)

Ive never met anyone shitty at the performance of the P5B-D (including me), so i doubt you'll have any problems. The bios has alot of nice features for overclocking too :).

:twitch:  :toast:

The 'nvidia' part was the only thing that drew me away from 975x, I wanted a board which 'may' have SLI (but it's not that important:rolleyes: ), also 975x and 650i both provide 2gpus in x8 mode, so sli or xfire wouldn't be that gd...
and P965 is er...well, I'm bored of it's problems with some things...like the slow cd/dvd read o boot with some 'windows' at diff. point of time :\ and Mac Os x x86 doesn't run on P965, there has been a patch but it doesn't work :\
So, I 'thought' I might 'ask' here which of the three boards (which i gave) 'you' would choose OR any likely priced alternatives. :) :toast:

P5B Dlx IS an awesome option but I got 2 dead boards that way, and it doesn't make a gd impression :(
My eyes are now on the MSI P6N SLI Plat, cuz it's in the budget and design of the board is beautiful, hmm...sorta like the P5W DH one lol.
Also, P5N-E is being said as the best price/perf. board, due to it's low price, decent oc and gd perf...
I'm teared down

Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i SLI is a lot cheaper here in the uk than other 680's, and the *deep breath* Foxconn N680S7AA-8EKRS2H is also, if you were looking cheaper then some of the 680lt boards are cheaper still (though at over £100 still i dont consider them particularly cheap)

the 680i's are quite buggy and problematic especially the cheaper ones, lots of users (including me) had some tedious problems with it, though the pricey ones aren't that bad...
I'm still looking ones in the 650i segment or the above options in the poll, due to prices... :ohwell:

i still need to find confirmation on whether 8800's can be run in 2x8x sli boards, ive seen a good few contrasting views on this, but no real 'set in stone' confirmation... i see a magazine here used a single 8800 in an 8x slot, so it should be possible, unless its 'driver locked' to only work in 2x16

this of course is assuming 650's are 2x8, if not feel free to slate me by all means

if not, here's hoping some of the 680's problems are sorted out in the 680lt boards

hmm... one of my frnds who have a GTS 640mb did SLI in 2 x8 slots, it worked and t'was a pretty good gain, but not that good...
I too am not thinking about going sli on a 650i, a single 8800gts is enough for budget like mine :ohwell:

*yawn* I'll see what votes do I get at the end of the day :)

I Have 1 more thing to ask, it's about the psu.
I've got these PSU's in mind-
Antec true power 550W
Cooler master Xtremepower 650w
Corsair HX620W
Glacial power 550W

so, which of these could run my setup (given above)
Only a yes or no would be required, pls don't refer others :D, thx :toast:
