Looking for an RTS. C&C RA3 any good?

I snagged a "Premier Edition" of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 from Best Buy for the regular edition's price of $30 + tax, but I haven't opened it yet. I can still return it for a few days.

I originally bought it for possible resale purposes, but then found out that Toys R Us had the Premiere Edition for $30 as well.

I've been playing Warcraft 3 custom games with my cousin, and a few 2v2s online, and it's making me miss RTS games. I haven't played C&C for years, and I'm wondering if their recent offering are any good.

I have World in Conflict, all of the Command and Conquers through C&C 3 Kane's Wrath already. What do you guys recommend? I enjoy militaristic type stuff, but for some reason, WiC hasn't hooked me in yet.

you better play RA2 (that is th most fun rts for me, especially with yuri's revenge add-on) than RA3, seriously, i as a fan of the series was disappointed
Tiberian Wars was better, but they are all based on the same engine, so its the same game in a new wrap. a mod if you wish.

and i haven't seen any good rts since RA2... I don't know, may be i haven't looked hard enough

C&C Tiberium Sun was da bomb... and RA3 was fun, hard, but not as exciting as the older C&C's like RA2

so, far, i can only suggest turn based strategy games such as Disciples 2 and civilization.
but i will watch this thread to hopefully find something interesting from RTS genre

Those are the best RTS games I've played. Good enough to play through at least twice.

Supreme Commander, Earth 2160, Empire Earth II, Empire Earth III, MechCommander II, Ground Control, World in Conflict, and Sins of a Solar Empire are also worth at least checking out.

In my opinion, the Earth 2150 series takes the cake. It's the only RTS I've encountered where weather has a major impact on unit performance, units and structures are upgradeable, the ability to tunnel, and having a main and mission base. Some others have one or two of these features; none have all. It has a pretty steep learning curve though.

RA3 was a wicked game and the singleplayer compaine was sweet and the videos where just hailarious it was a blast to play not the best RTS out there but deffently worth playing throguht at least once

).The only RTS I play anymore is warcraft 3. Thats only because Vista doesn't like starcraft, and starcraft 2 isnt out yet

Dawn of war 2 try it

it's epic, altho it's different from the earlier games where base building. DoW 2 takes you in command of the Force Commander and a set of troops from the space marines and pits you against armies of orkks/eldar hordes of tyranids. It's up to you on how you'll take on the task.. More like commandos.
