I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section. My boss is looking to give his wife a gift for christmas that is similar to the IPad, but he doesn't exactly care for Apple products and is looking for a Windows or other base solution. The important things to him are it being able to read books (Kindle), somewhat thin and lightweight like the IPad, etc. Any thoughts on what I can offer him as suggestions?

The wife has a Droid phone as does he, they're pretty used to the OS and it's apps which is why I think he wants one of those Android Tablets that have been coming out. I'm just currently shopping around to see which are the best ones for their prices.

If you want an iPad like device, then get and iPad. I got one for my mother, and she is loving it. There is really nothing for Android yet until Honeycomb comes out. Sure there is the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but the software and UI is not accustom to the larger screen.

I got to play with a 2go Pad the other day and it is freaking awesome!

    Another Quick Linus Review

Yes, the base price is $50 more than a base iPad, but it is a fully functional PC, not a scaled up smartphone. And it comes with a 250GB hard drive instead of the 16GB of the iPad, and the 2go Pad plays flash(of course).

uhh... check out the Archos 28, 32, 43, 70, and 101 Link (Note: only the 28, 32, and 70 seem to be coming in stock but Archos is shipping more here to the US)

I've been looking too and I'm considering either the Archos 101 or the ExoPc for myself. I'm leaning toward the Archos though because of the much better battery life.

ACER is supposed to have a fusion powered tablet out early in the year.

    it was on endgadget.com

amd acer window7 tablet with 10.1 inch screen. I belive its going to run the new fusions chips.

should be a nice piece with good support and software options.
