Aye Red has a point, regardless of your machine doings things "okay" EVERYTHING will be faster if you got away from that p4!

Boot up time, program loading, cpu based rendering, search times within windows.

If you moved to a PCI-E card you could run your current games fully maxed out, and maybe look at the reviews of some more modern games and see what you fancy, there's so many good games out that your missing out on dude.

Basically a xbox 360 is more powerful than your rig at the moment so any further "upgrades" are just pissing your money away, now I don't know what you do, maybe you have the money to piss away, but most people do not and even simply for that reason you should move on.

( seee I was nice about things)

Guys, all this dude is asking for is the best AGP card to complement his present system. This is the last warning to stay on topic before infractions start flowing.

He made it clear he doesn't want to change his system - as much as we (yes me included) don't agree with his plans this is no reason to deviate the topic of his thread - if you post make sure it's something constructive to help him choose the best AGP card for his rig.

Oh no! a slight deviation from topic!

BP what if someone were to post a thread saying they were going to spend 9000 pounds on building a 775 pentium d system with two 6800 in sli, would you not expect people to try and steer them away from the decision?

All of our posts have been on topic because we're trying to suggest alternatives, something that happens in about 100% of threads regarding hardware buying decisions, if it's not offtopic there ( for example a system build thread where they have stated what they plan to buy, but people suggest cheaper alternatives) why is it here?

Whilst I appreciate you trying to moderate, it really does make a forum crap when people can't expand on subject or deviate, if you stop such things happening it is infact no longer a forum. ( a place for open discussion)

What I'm saying is we are free to make suggestions, it's up to him to read them or not : ]

That's how forums should work not this censoring type of thing I'm seeing on this forum allatime.

I'll re-explain: I agree with your point that the OP isn't making the best choice here but he has already made it clear that no matter how much we disagree he still wants to keep his present system and wants a suggestion for a better AGP card for his pc. It's useless flogging..... I mean any further arguments might only get the OP upset seeing that we don't respect his decision and we don't want that here.

Wishing you all the best with your new card, this thread can now be closed since you've taken your decision and hence don't need any more suggestions on which graphics card to buy.
