Hello!

Can someone please help me find the original factory bios rom for my GPU?:
Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5
I also attached a photo from GPU-Z for more info.

I already search on the techpowerup database and managed to narrow it down to 2 possible roms. But none of which specified that they were original factory roms...

My GPU works just fine. The reason I am doing this is because I am reselling my cards that were flashed for mining. I thought it would be best to reset the bios but I deleted the original bios rom by accident. This leads me to a second question: Is it OK to resell this GPU with flashed bios? Can this card still be use in general (ex. gaming) with flashed bio? or is resetting the bios a requirement before reselling a GPU?

Thanks so much if anyone can help me!

okay only if you disclose that info to the buyer, regardless you'll still have to let them know that the bios isn't the one that came with the card. As the S/N in the bios will be different.

If it's anything like nvidia the serial numbers in the image can't be changed without a hardware flasher.

Serial number in the BIOS??? What? Why? Where? Seriously. The answers to all 3 please.

What, as in what serial number? The actual serial number on the packaging and sticker on the card?

Why, as in why would there be any need or purpose for having that in the BIOS?

Where, as in pics or it didn't happen.

Anyway...no. You don't "have" to, and/or are not "required" to do anything.

I don't remember but I vaguely remember seeing S/Ns when I was flashing my card. Why? I dunno if a flashed card is bricked/damaged as a result of flashing and the hapless fool tries to get an RMA...

ASUS puts the serial into the BIOS of some of their cards

So does NVIDIA

Don't think I've seen it from anyone else

So what happens when the AIB issues a new Bios for a card to fix a known issue? I mean, does anyone actually care?

I've experienced what you asked twice with Asus, they don't release a bios. They release an executable that contains the new bios which is downloaded and installed. What it does under the hood I can only guess, if I had to guess I'd say it either patches existing bios or reads the S/N and patches that into the new bios.

Well OK for Asus but I know from my own experience that in the past both MSI and Gigabyte do, I mean I recall our Gigabyte rep posting one here to fix some GTX 1080 issues.
