my brother is offering me a job at Walmart due to the amount of people being fired. so i accepted his offer. anyways though i want to do a small upgrade to my PC.

1. Better PSU maybe a 550-700W will do
2. Suggest on what GPU to get. I play L4D, Killing Floor, CSS, Farcry 2, Etc.

i have already found some FAN Filters for my 120mm FANS HERE as i looked in my case and noticed there was dust in a good amount of spots but it wasn't like OMG!!! it was just like dang it :ohwell:

my limit is within the $250 range at most

thanks, me will keep that deal in mind. i've heard the 4770 is better then the 4850? true?

It can be close. And when you get your rebates back you can then use them for a cpu upgrade. :)

EDIT:
720BE maybe?

Open Box AMD Phenom 9950 Agena 2.6GHz Socket AM2+ 125W but i may hold off on the CPU.

what if i wanted to Dual two 4770's? would that be a good choice or just really stick with one for my needs?

If you want to stick with AMD, don't bother with the first series of Phenom chips....maybe think of them as the clumsy cousin that no one really pays attention to.

You're MB does support AM3 chips. With that in mind, you should either pick up a Phenom II x3 720 (AM3) or a Phenom II x4 810 (AM3) at the very least. If you want to spend a little extra, get the Phenom II x4 940 (AM2+). If you go with an AM3 chip, you'll most likely need to upgrade/flash your BIOS to support the newer AM3 chip.

As for a PSU, if you want to run with Crossfire/SLI, be certain to find yourself a good 650W or better. If you want to run 2 4770, a good 700W should run things just fine. If you're looking more towards maybe getting a 4890 and then a second one later, you'd want to get a solid 800W or better.

If you don't want to Crossfire/SLI, but want a good high end card, shoot for at least a solid 500-550W. This way you'll have something powerful enough to run a newer CPU and GPU and allow headroom for any overclocking - if that's something you do.

Would stick with one due to the res your display is limited to.

Also nice choice on processor but would still pickup the 720BE over it.

The PC Power & Cooling 750W is an excellent PSU and is on sale today only for $70 after rebate.

If you miss the deal, take a look at the following:
$100 - Corsair 650TX
$120 - Corsair 750TX
$110 - PC Power & Cooling 750W
$160 - SeaSonic M12 700W

I would definitely go with either the 4770 or the PC Power & Cooling 750W, or Corsair 750W.

Both are huge upgrades from the 8600 and that Rosewell

yeah, i looked at the AM3 CPU's and i have updated my BIOS to 1.50

yep, the 720 does seem awesome for my rig. it'd be nice later on. i will get the 750W (the deal won't last long on this model) or 610W from PC Power and Cooling. the 4770 seems like it can handle most things and is slightly better then the 4830.

when purely for gaming the OCed 4850e you have will last another year easely, the performance upgrade through the 4770 will make a huge difference.
