I too like the option to use the G700 wired vs a charge cradle only scenario. I was looking for something at a max price of at or near $50 though. Just can't see spending that much on a mouse. Then again, the good ones do last a long time, so I can see why some do.

they tend to last longer, imho they feel better because more r&d was put into ergonomics. i still have my 10 yr old logitech working perfectly - just a bit worn on the sides and personally i go for something new every year or two, however that's just me. i would bet you could pull 5 years at least out of that mose... just don't throw it?

My main problem with the $60 and up mice is there's always something finicky about them be it ergonomics, software inconsistencies, or features I don't need and don't want to pay for.

It would be a lot more tempting if I could at least find ONE local store that displays them so I can check fit and feel first, but none do anymore.

Reviews suffice for the most part for technical issues, but you can't go by pics or what reviews say on fit.

I have had 2 sidewinder mice. Assuming you are not rough on them, they do pretty well.

I used to use a sidewinder as well, really loved it. Glad I moved on though, I love my Naga Epic now. I use it in wired mode, but the lithium battery acts as a extra weight, which I like.

I got a Razer Naga Hex afterall, at first it didn't want to work after a reboot though. Took me a little while to fix that annoying problem but it seems to be working fine now.

It's just fantastic with Diablo 3 and other action rpgs!
