Looking to upgrade from an old card.

My desktop recently had an its graphics card die, it was a Radeon HD6670, and and since its drivers were switched to legacy support I knew that it was only a matter of time.

So now I'm looking for something more up to date. I don'the really want to spend much more than $450~$500 (Technically I don't want to spend more than $300, but I know that cards more expensive from bitcoins.) for a card. Since my PSU is a bit weak so I can replace it if it'll give better quality for the price, but if I don't need to then it's all for the better. Overall I don't want to spend more than I paid for the whole machine which was around $900.

The specs I have listed have been updated to what I currently have so let me know if you need anymore information to help with recommendations. Thank you in advance for the help.

Buy a new good 550 Watt PSU from a well known brand and go with a GTX1070 / 1070Ti / 1080.

~~Can you fix the typo of what gpu you had die please~~? Nevermind, i see its a 6670.

If its really older, & your psu isnt super capable, a gtx1050ti might be a good (low budget $140'ish)choice. It requires very little power & some require no pcie power cables at all.

Or you could go with a mid range modern card and use the difference of your budget to purchase a new power supply.which would definitely be a good idea.(the more costly option)

I'm going to guess that you would still be running that GPU had it not died ,& I'm going to further guess that it's capabilities were acceptable for your daily use. in which case I'd say the first option I posted would be a good choice and definitely the cheaper you'd get out with about $140 spent.

The second choice also would be a good one and one that would include some future planning because replacing your power supply is never a bad idea so it's really up to you in the end

Get the $325 GTX 980ti.... trust me that card will blown your mind (i wish i could get a 980ti for me)

then you still have $175 for getting your desired 550 / 600W max psu, moar than that will be a waste of money, Seasonic, Enermax, EVGA, Tt and Antec are pretty solid PSU's

not to confuse things more but a 1060 card would be much cheaper and give good 1080 performance.. no need for new psu ether..

the 1070 TI is a bit over priced and over kill for your needs..

Your PSU isn't all that bad, or inadequately sized, but if you're going to get a new PSU, this is the one to get:

Make sure you look at the GTX 1080's. They're a bit more expensive than the 1070 Ti's, but they also come with a free game.

You might want to bump your RAM as well.

If he doesnt need a psu upgrade for an rx570, he doesnt need it for a 1070ti. 1070ti only consumes 10 more watts.

I'm thinking from ease of transfer and budget.

The 570 will fit well into it. Besides he had a 6670, not a 6770, 6870, 6970.
