I can't wait for that chip....

That will be my ryzen when it comes out. this 3900x stock situation is a little discouraging though.

Me two. As i said, the wait is long. Way to long. But given the price of intel's i9 9960X. Ryzen 9 3950X might seem exspensive on it's own, but compared to 9960X, it looks like a pretty good deal with a x570 board. That shut be a great replacement for my old timer of an i7 980X.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Life is full of risks and I think you mistake this Psu for previous models, I just check the box out, neat and slick cables arrangement, its even got a 135mm blower, no signs of being bad or cheap, beautiful black satin finish and recommended for sli/crossfire arrangements, the approvals speaks for itself: UL / CUL /FCC/TUV /CE /CCC /CB /C-tick

Also aFPC - which is found in more expensive PSU's

Oh and its 85+ efficient

Lets see, I've searched some feedback and only the old models appears, cant find anything negative as yet.

But thanks for your concern.
I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but your reasons to think it's good are also garbage.

1. neat and slick cables? What does that have to do with the quality of the unit????? Come on man, use your head.
2. Most all PSUs have a fan.
3. No signs to YOU, who respectfully knows very little about PSUs.
4. Finish? You are talking about how it looks like it has anything to do with quality? Yikes... scary.
5. SLI/Crossfire support is also not relevant. That has more to do with the PCIe connectors and label wattage (not what it actually puts out).
6. Those approvals mean little as to the quality... Do you know what they mean?
7. Again, efficiency has little/nothing to do with the quality of the power supply.

You don't have to listen, but I would stop trying to defend it because, again respectfully, you do not know what makes a quality PSU. :)

I'll leave it alone, but know your defense of the PSU is not worth a leg to stand on.

Good luck to you. :)

EDIT: It really isn't fair to bash it without seeing a review on the specific model, but outside of literally ONE line, Raidmax PSUs are barely serviceable. Hopefully this line is one of barely serviceable PSUs.

Whahahaha, not letting you suck me in buddy, I've had plenty experience with different pc components and I'm not defending anything im pointing out that I have one guy with positive feedback on this PSU and that Ill give it a try, go ahead and live with that.

In my own view and what I can see this PSU looks good, its silent, it had proper specs and ratings, appears fine for the past week.

Just because its made in China does not make it bad, 10 to 1 they have identified their mistakes and rectified on this model, so go suck it up somewhere else pal or just get me banned and that's over with...

I'm feeling so much love for my recent Ryzen build too, I don't recall having such an easy build, put the parts together and power up on my first go. I managed to land a 3900X from Canada Computers when I was in Toronto, I had to resort to using my niece's Canadian CC as they don't seem to welcome foreign CC's. Anyway, paid her for the price of the CPU in cash. When I got back to my home country, I got about looking for a case, mobo, PSU, SSD and HDD, as well as a CPU AIO.

Anyway, my Ryzen build is complete and I'm putting it through its pace, gotta love shiny new toys! System specs as listed on the left (profile, or whatever it's called):

This would be my dream build, when the GPU gets replaced by a 5800XT?/5900XT? or RTX3xxx series.......meanwhile will chug along with the VEGA64. ;) :D Also, this is my last hurrah, I don't see myself building any more rigs in the future, I'd prolly stick with this rig (and my other 3960X and 4770K rigs) and basically upgrade the GPU when there's a need for it. Right now, the VEGA64 RD is surprisingly good, and can handle most modern games at mid-high to max setting at 3440x1440.

Didn't you just buy an Intel system and talking about how you got more more performance for less money? What happened to it?

I hope your using a better quality PSU now... ive seen quality psu's go after 10yrs but ive had literally 100's of cheap crap blow up that ive had to replace. They are a fire hazard also. I just felt the need to express on you the importance if a good PSU.
Ive used Thermaltake toughpower and Seasonic m12 Seasonic 1000+ personally and after 10yrs I had the Thermaltake blow, they replaced it btw. but there was no risk of fire due to its built in protections.
When ive seen cheaper psu's blow, they pop and then crackle when theyre on fire. Go with Seasonic if you can, they have made quality psu's for over 20yrs.
I once had one go and I managed to uninstall it from the customers pc and whilst going to unplug it, the wire just melted away from the plug. just managing to uninstall it I literally ran outside and threw it down trying not to breath in the fumes on my way out. you never want to go through that... just a head up about cheap psu's!:toast:

Congrats and enjoy !

Already enjoying it, I got the motherboard all set up tonight, just waiting another week or two for the latest chipset and gpu drivers direct from AMD before I do my clean install :D I am not in any rush.

Love the colors ! really cool, yeah the Vega64 is pretty good, I'm sticking with my RX580 since I'm only playing at Full HD (screen limitation ) but I will also look at GPU maybe year end or next year, just like you I want to see AMD direction on their GPU's interesting stuff laying ahead...

Also, should note that my B450 ASRock Steel Legend motherboard shipped with Ryzen 3000 ready sticker on it... made me really happy to see that. :) Also they released a new BIOS yesterday for this motherboard that fixes Destiny 2 issue. I am just hoping I can OC my ram from 3200 cas 14 to around 3400 or 3600 cas 14 with small voltage bump. hopefully I don't need an x570 board for that

Does that mean it was already flashed with a BIOS that works with Zen 2...............or is it just marketing?

It came with a sticker on it that said Ryzen 3000 Desktop ready. So the BIOS was updated on their end before it was shipped to newegg. I also read reviews on Amazon that said this mobo model came with that sticker for others as well, so congrats to ASRock for being on target.

Not just marketing, it makes it so you don't need an older CPU to flash BIOS, very cool of them.

So, you confirmed that it has the proper BIOS on it already or....................? I'm asking because, if it wasn't clear in my first inquiry to you about it, we've seen stickers on boards like that but it doesn't always mean they flashed the bios. ;)

Because, X470 is, by definition, Ryzen 3000 desktop ready already... it just needs a proper BIOS.

but if its Raidmax, at BEST it is serviceable... at worst you might as well play with gas and fire close to each other
Oh my God, it's a good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read that or it would be all over my monitor. Thanks for the laugh.

I can confirm it works, the difference here I think is that this particular mobo just released Spring of this year, so perhaps just it was easier for them to re-do the new stock?

My only concern now is if B450 will hold me back when I upgrade the 5700 XT to a 5800 XT someday

lol so much head scratching logic in this thread.

So just did a check pretty sure that Raidmax PSU is 9 years old. Can find reviews of that model dating back on Amazon to 2011. So if that is anything to go buy its amazing it still works with modern hardware as many users on Intel systems its proved problematic.

not on your 1440p monitor

So even if next-gen graphics cards significantly increase performance, we won't see huge differences in PCIe requirements because you'd not use those graphics cards at 1080p, but rather 4K. In such a scenario, with FPS increasing on 4K, the difference in scores would be more similar to this review's data for 1440p, or even 1080p.

probably not a lot of economical options in south africa but yeah Raidmax would not be my personal first, second, or third choice for a PSU brand

They sell that Max at one store for R1125 if he paid an extra R174,he could of bought a SuperFlower Leadex 650w silver.
People here don't always look around properly.

thank you, there are plenty available, I'm also looking at the Antec HCG 850W 80+Gold for R1600 on promotion, don't need 850W I'll keep my eye on the 650W pricing or the VP700 plus also on sale for less than R999 (around $65 us) and I remember them being much more expensive a while back like around $150

I hear a lot of good things about this motherboard ! ^

I used flashback on my B450 motherboard to update bios for Ryzen 3000, you don't need a cpu or any other component, only the power cables and a flash drive with proper bios ver.

Do you guys think a Corsair H60 AIO would cool my 3700x by at least 10-15 celsius better than the stock cooler with toggle on hi on the stock cooler?

if it won't then I will just stick with stock. I was also going to remove the stock corsair fan and do 2x 140mm Noctua fans (they fit in 120mm slots thanks to unique circular design), on th H60... with strong fan curve it might cool really well... I already own the Noctua fans... I am considering it. not sure yet though.
