Hello i bought a sapphire pulse 580 used. And i dont know why but the card only boosts to 1090 clock speeds. I think it could be a mining card and they flashed the wrong bios or something. I added a screen of what gpu-z tells me, what do you guys think?

Take pictures of all white stickers on back of card and post them here.

GPU-z shows boost of 2020, and you are using a BETA driver.
Revert back to the last stable driver.

Hey i managed to take this picture is it ok?

I already did, nothing changed but the driver number.

The sku# is the original Pulse 580 8G

So it should be
1366
2000

Who knows why its what your getting or if its the card.

If you can return it do so. If thats not an option. Live with it or if your feeling brave enough Flash it to original bios but there is always a chance you can brick it.

Hey how do i know what to flash it to? like... the performance is good but i kinda feel something is wrong with it. I can clock it to 1400 in msi afterburner and it runs better but you know its like overclocking. You think its a knock off card??

if you want to find BIOS, you could find it here
just make sure its match the serial number of your card
be careful with it and understand what are you clicking if you want to flash.

if you uncomfortable with flashing card
you can stick with your 'overclocked' msi afterburner settings, just make sure the the GPU is fed with proper voltage
( I think it is around 1.0750~1.1300V on my RX 580 Nitro+)
since most miner lowered the GPU clock along with voltage to save power

after you clocked it back to 'stock' clocks, try to play some games for few hours and see if it works with no freeze/auto-restart/bsod.

Thats a legitimate sku number. Max boost clock should be 1366 core, 2000 ram

These bios files match up to your existing bios by Device ID and Subsystem ID

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191713/sapphire-rx580-8192-170324

Take a picture of the graphics card cooler and video ports and post them here for referencing

Im adding pictures of the cards ports, cooler and backplate. It seems pretty good to me.

Well that is a Legitimate card,

The 2 files I posted earlier go to your gpu. Pick 1 or the other and you should be fine.

Back up your original bios file using gpu-z. Make sure to separate your original bios file from the downloaded one.

PS get this file.
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Then use this guide, disable antivirus programs and just run it in windows for ease of use.

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/amd-ati-flashing-guide.212849/

Since the correct bios files are in the collection you should be able to run the program in windows without a problem, some go about it the hard way with a command prompt.

Hey i tried flashing it to the bios but now on boot i get a B2 error. It is like a legacy bios error. No idea if i bricked it or my motherboard bios has a problem with it now.

Ill try to get to my friend tommorow to test the card. It seems like there is a bios conflict between my motherboard and the card now because with the card in the system gives a b2 error and if i put the PCI-E bios thingi into efi it puts a 97 error out

oh yea z68 sorry all the intel naming got me confused. Im flashing the newest bios from the site to check right now. I tried to set priority pci-e bios to EFI but that got me a 97 error so not sure whats up. ill keep on checking

Read your motherboard manual for the error codes.

Heres is a bios and it is for uefi GPUs.

http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/BIOS/1155/Z68 Extreme3 Gen3(L2.31A)ROM.zip

Make sure to reset your motherboard bios by clear cmos/jbat jumper.

Is the monitor blacked out.
If i start the PC with the card inside and on then i get b2 and a blank screen.

I think i see it now, my gpu has gddr5x micron and the bios on the site has hynix or samsung stated only. Could that be it?

1 moment will check

The 1st bios only had hynix on it.

The Second 1 has Auto Detect.

Ok i got the card working, i flashed the old bios. Well the problem is its still the one with low clock speeds.

Ok these have micron memory and support the Device ID and subsystem ID, plus have the info at bottom of each page too. Sorry about that.

This first 1 seems to match your card because it has OC in the name on your sticker

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/197940/197940

Here is the other.

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/200010/200010

There are only 2 files i found that have micron memory @Gingerbreadtiger
