low profile cooler?

Hi I have just joined TPU and so if this finds its way to the wrong place, please accept my apologies.

I have a VERY ordinary old "PC Gold" tower which is probably more cluttered than it should be (has an almost round hole in the side cover for a 120mm fan which was cut out with a jigsaw)

E6300 runs 40-44 c idle and around 60-64 under load. seems a little hot to me, although the system appears to be totally stable

Can anyone recommend a low profile or relatively small CPU cooler which will outperform the stock cooler? I suspect my 120mm side fan will object to the addition of a large cooler.

also, a little off topic, if anyone in Perth Western Australia wants an AC accelero X2, contact me and you can have both it and the dysfunctional X1900gt it is attached to free of charge (so long as you will collect it). The card never worked properly, but the X2 fan spins up, so i assume it's ok.

great CPU cooler and wont hit 120mm side fan.....also you can get ANY cooler and simply mount the 120mm side fan on OUTSIDE of case

Coolermaster Vortex 752, FTW!!!
It is a proper low profile cooler, but works amazing. I have an e6600 @ 3Ghz , 1.38v (all the time, no speed step) and it is currently running at 25*c (die temp) Fan @1400rpm (bios wont let me slow it down ). Fan spins up to about 1800rpm under load, die temp goes to about 40*c and cores are in upper 50's. I got some Artic Silver Ceramique for it too. The stuff it comes with is pretty naff, lol!!! And it has PWM (for bios control) and is nice and quiet.

Just thinking about it, the thermaltake Orb series are pretty small. Im personally using the Golden orb in my mATX rig and it keeps temps sub 50*C (e2140 @ 2.1Ghz). Although, the blue orb is apparently a lot better.

Before I got my Nirvana I was using this. Very good cooler. Very low profile not much bigger than stock and way better. All copper.
