LTSC 1809 issues (Ryzen 3600)

Hello! My PC lacks an SSD and has only a terabyte HDD 7200 rpm (SATA III).
So, the issues are:

1) When I search for a keyword in the registry, the regedit window may freeze several times and Windows itself works slower (e.g. when opening/exploring My Computer its window may respond noticeably slower than usual). All drivers are new and installed from scratch since it's a newly installed Windows. I tried the Ryzen High Performance power plan. And having no SSD can not be the reason for this, there's no issue on a freaking 8 y.o. laptop but there's on a not-at-all old PC, like what is this???

2) I installed the latest chipset drivers, didn't uncheck anything, but after the installation Windows kept using the Microsoft-made USB 3 drivers, so I "updated" them manually, specifying the AMD drivers folder created by the chipset drivers installation program. There still are 2 USB 3 drivers by Microsoft - for NVIDIA USB 3.1 (won't update from an unpacked GeForce GPU driver folder) and one of two of AMD USB 3.1 (the other one allowed me to update it from the AMD chipset folder). How to fix this?

Get an ssd, you can buy just an os sized 120gb one for like $15 so there's no need not to have one, a 1tb hdd is slow compared to newer hdd's and ssd drives so whilst windows is doing all its background processes, starting up, loading services, scanning for malware, everything else in the background etc your hdd is struggling to keep up imo, though you could try a different sata port /cable and make sure you have it set to ahci in the bios for optimal performance just in case

Not sure a SSD will help with that. That's because the Registry is not fully completed until Windows is fully started and after the Registry hives are assembled in memory. So Registry searches happen in system RAM, not on the disk. Having a SSD will certainly speed boot times considerably, but not Registry searches.

Man, there was no issue with that on a Sandy Bridge-based laptop with a 5400 rpm HDD, but suddenly a new 7200 rpm HDD must be the reason???

You know what messed up with the registry? Something called "NahimicService.exe", signed by A-Volute, I believe it's a program called "Sonic Radar" which is a part of an audio driver from ASUS. Disabling the service fixed the issue.

And it was really strange to imply an HDD can ever be the issue, I could imagine it when you run something that reads from your hard-drive A LOT, but Regedit? C'mon.

It is likely your audio driver(s) became corrupted for some reason. Simply disabling the service should not mess up the Registry as all it likely did was change a "1" to a "0". If me, I would totally uninstall your audio drivers, reboot, then install the [latest] drivers again and see what happens.

I uninstalled the driver from the support page of my motherboard, installed the latest one from there and it's the same, so I need to stop and disable the service again. Not sure what it is, may be somehow it doesn't like that I don't install the HD Audio drivers from NVIDIA, but it would be strange I guess, and I don't need them anyway because I only use the HDMI port for transmitting picture, not sound.

Yeah, it must be something unique to your system or that you are doing - otherwise, the problem would be more widespread. That said, not many ever have a need to search the Registry, so maybe not so widespread after all.

It might be something worth reporting to ASUS.
