This poll is a sister poll to http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=129865

It just asks the questions in a very different way.

Imagine you could play lucky dip bingo, where there are 5 possible bins marked Intel, nVidia, ATI, AMD, and MAD. In each of the bins would be a random selection of this company's products. You might get a high end product, or a low end product. Completely random.

You can only make ONE choice. From which bin would you take your prize?

The Intel bin would contain only Intel CPUs (random selection of all current products). You will get a free processor
The nVidia bin would contain only GPUs or TESLA cards (random selection of all current products). You will get a free GPU
The ATI bin would contain only GPUs, Radeons or FirePros (random selection of all current products). You will get a free GPU
The AMD bin would contain only AMD CPUs (random selection of all current products). You will get a free processor
The MAD bin would contain a mix of ATI GPUs or AMD CPUs (random selection of all current products). You will get a free processor or a free GPU. Who knows?

The MAD bin sounds like it's for people who can't make up thier minds. You either have to have better use for a CPU or a GPU, so letting the bin pick for you doesn't sound like a good idea.

I think I would pick the Nvidia bin. I've been hankering for an upgrade to either my GPU or my CPU for a while. Thing is, the CPU upgrade would be almost entirely for the purpose of doing more work with WCG, and the only upgrade that would be worth it would be a quad core, or even the x6, but that would require a new motherboard with more robust power circuitry, as mine only handles 95w; however, I can stick pretty much any video card I want in my x16 slot, and since I can only get current products, the chances are high that I will get something better than I already have, depending on the definition of current. Choosing Nvidia over ATI/AMD for FAH power.

Nvidia for me. I'm happy with my procy (and have no intention of moving to Intel's "ever changing" sockets) and I'm in need of a new GPU. Though gaming on a TESLA card will be VERY unique

I would choose the Intel bin because I think you have good odds of getting a pretty nice CPU. If I got a high end AMD CPU I would be bummed.

I picked NVIDIA because I've been with ATi for 99% of my life and I'm getting closer and closer to being able to use CUDA.
I've tried AMD and intel cpu's; and ATi gpu's but haven't got a lot of experience with NVIDIA, so would be nice to give them a try.
