Make Heatware obligatory while creating FS/FT threads

I think a better idea would be to have a place in the UserCP Options to put your Heatware ID, the same place you put your Folding@Home and Cruncher names. Then when it is filled in it just creates a link in the same area where the badges are located under our sigs. Maybe even make a button that matches the other badges.

And perhaps not allow creation of new threads in the the B/S/T section unless that option is filled out.

didn't think of it that way, could be time saving for him for sure just add a check to see if filled out before making an FS thread, and if not, a pop with link or something to fill it out

I don't think we have too many issues with safety and security in the FS/T section but anything involving the use of heatware will be a good idea.

I don't see it as something that is obligatory nor an issue here, we are one of very few forums that makes it obligatory to post pics with our username in them and that should be the standard across many forums but it isn't. I don't think Ive ever seen someone come in here posting false goods without any heatware and keeping their thread alive more than 3 minutes before someone that isn't even a mod comes in and shines the spotlight.

Common sense:

It should always be the responsibility of the buyer or seller to request heatware information from the other person they are dealing with but if the heatware info was built into the forum then that only suggests even furthermore how great the FS/T forum on TPU really is.

I think we have one of the most honest and trustworthy group of traders here and we all have each others backs most of the time. I see scams and rip-offs on other forums enough to never even return back to them.. at TPU I've seen ZERO since Ive been here and I am grateful to be a member of a community that offers one of the best if not THE best trading forum online.

Completely agree, though I think this would make it easier for mods, as well as for new members who want to use BST

and a Heatware badge would just be much easier to see and look cooler

I completely agree with this, except the perhaps not allow creation of new threads in the B/S/T section part... I think that new thread creation in the B/S/T section should not be allowed unless this requirement is met, not just perhaps.

If that was implemented it should check "for trade" and "for free" threads too.

Thus, this is spotted and the member is then directed to read the rules which is a good thing. As someone who see's the B/S/T forum every day and as someone who see's what is happening there behind the scenes I see no reason for any changes. Adding it to the UserCP might be a good idea, but if someone again didn't read the rules it would go ignored anyways. Getting people to read and understand the guidelines of the B/S/T is more important to me.

I think if it was just made so that it couldn't be submitted without heatware the person will be likely to go look at the section more closely to find out what it means, and thus most likely end up reading the rules anyways.
