Before I start powering my way through Mass Effect 2 at insanity difficulty to get all the achievements, I have to ask: what accomplishments and/or decisions do you guys know/think will carry through to the Mass Effect 3?

For example, I finished my first play-through with almost exactly the same renegade and paragon orientation (I like to be neutral: bad to baddies, good to good guys & slap up the wimps now and again) & I definitely think that will affect how ME3 plays.
Another example is,
who survives the suicide mission will definately filter through to ME3.

Do you guys think that achievements will play a part, and what other choices do you expect to influence your/our ME3 universe?
:toast:

I think it will be a series of battles against the Reapers and basically everyone that is alive/recruited will fight on your side. I doubt there will be much galaxy hopping and frankly, I bet the game will be as disappointing as Mass Effect 2, if not more so.

Expect your romantic choices to have some effects on ME3, the same way of ME1->ME2.
Also the last choice, (spoiler ahead, anyone haven't finished the game yet should stop reading) whether you destroyed the collectors base or not, as it'll affect your relationship with Cerebrus and the Illusive Man, I believe it's the most important choice!
Its' possible also that some side missions and even DLC may get some mention in ME3, but not to have dire consequences!

I think if you die in 2nd game. You have to start all over from level one in the 3rd game.

@Ford

Dude i can't believe you think ME2 is dissapointing. May not have been a mind-blower like the 1st but it was better than most games. IMO i thought both were equally good. :D

ME was a die hard PC game (all about the mouse/keyboard) with console-imposed limitations (small environments). ME2 went 100% consolitis most notably is removing crouch which mandates use of a cover system which generally pisses PC gamers off. It went from a tactical shooter with RPG elements in ME to basically a generic third person action game. They basically made the game idiot friendly which alienates those like me that loved their use of the Unreal Engine 3 in the original (is probably still the best Unreal Engine 3 game to date). They basically removed everything in ME2 that made ME great (diverse and meaninful character leveling, meaningful gear leveling, Renegade stands up to its name, fluid combat mechanics, planetary exploration, infinite wammo, the Reapers, relatable and memorable enemies, etc.).

Because the money is in consoles, ME3 will take more after ME2 than ME which is why I expect to not like it.

Romantic choices were minimized in ME2 to a picture on your desk and basically one or two changes to dialogs when you first encounter them. I feel that ME2 romances were even more minimized (you don't have to replay the whole game to romance someone to sexytime in ME2 where you had to make choices on the matter in ME) than they were in ME so I suspect it will be little more than a sidenote in ME3.

They did make it a like a console game. That pissed me off too. :mad: But the story and game was still awesome.
