I really enjoyed this game. Here are a lists of things I liked about this game:
-story line
-action
-freedom to roam the Galaxy
-action sequences
-the indoor and outdoor quests
-different weapons, weapon mods/upgrades
-different suits, suit modes/upgrades
-configure option doesn't take you back to the main screen of ME. Once you start the Configure option and finish you have to exit out of it then restart ME again. Very annoying even though you won't do this very often.

What I like to see:
-some sort of space craft combat
-more indoor 1st person shooter quests involving additional puzzles/side quests.
-an option to expedite conversations (maybe I overlooked the button that does this?)
-better explanation of character classes and how it will effect you in game combat.
-ability to change the main character to your liking

I found the character classes to be, how should I say, unnecessary. Had I known this I would have just stuck to the solider based on how I like to play. In particular your ability to use different weapons effectively and the inability to use certain armor suits. One oddity was that I was never able to fix the vehicle. I wonder if choosing a different class will cause the game to play differently?

In any case I really liked this game and in some ways can play like Stalker:
-inventory
-Journal
-Map
-First Aid
-Taking cover
-etc
At this point I would like to know if if there a way to continue playing the side quests of this game once you finished it? Or am I stuck with my save points? Because once you reach a certain part in the game you are no longer given side quests from the Citadel. I found myself not being able to finish one side quest before "that happened". Regardless, I look forward to ME2.

I can't wait for the ME2 to come out and hope it's just as good as ME.

You can actually restart the game with exact same character from the 1st time? I didn't know that. Are you at the same stat/level weapons/etc you end the game with?
Edit: Nevermind you can...

Not only can you start over with the same character. But if you unlocked any of the mastery cups..like master pistol, master shotgun..you new character starts off with rank in that skill, even if they normally dont get it. Which helps if you start a new character on the harder diff level.

You can skip conversations by hitting spacebar, or right clicking the mouse, well at least for me.

Interesting, on your second run of this game you can definitely up the difficulty do to the equipment/weapons you acquired before. Also, I notice that most of the item upgrades are a continuation from the 1st run though. I am now finding level X upgrades.

The whole level progression thing never worked for me. I seem to be on 'some' level the whole time, I got better stuff, better skills, but I could never micro-manage them.

Anyways, the game was fun, good amount of stuff to do, although, definatley not enough exploration. I wanted to go to nearly any planet, set down, and find either mobs to kill or small quests to do. For each star system there's like one planet that you can visit ;/

Without any modifications, the default graphics are kinda poor in some areas. Shadows are yuck, but fortunatley most of it's ammendable.

I also wish your teammates played a more valuable role. Sometimes their abilities come in handy, but I rarely found myself having to stop, bring up the menu and tell them to do something.

I've made quiet a few modifications to this game and the shadows have improved for me.

BIOGame.ini

Has anyone been able to play this game using the xbox 360 game pad on the PC? I haven't been able to get ME to detect it. Odd to say the least.

There are around 20 side missions (so far) that I've found before I got into the main story. After playing this game a 2nd time I know I missed more then 5 of them so far. Specially the side missions your crew mates offer you.

If anyone is interested in playing this game IMO you should:
-Finish all the assignments on the Citadel before venturing into space on the Normandy
-Pick up the scientist as your 1st mission after leaving the Citadel. It's simple and not as "involved" as other main missions.
-Avoid the main missions and work on the assignments first that way you can return to the Citadel for more side missions (both at the Citadel's financial section, tower, etc and elsewhere).
-Make sure you talk to your crew after a mission, this is how you activate their personal missions
Once you have exhausted all assignments then start on your main mission.

i wish the biotic things were useful, if i known how useless they were i would have played through on soldier class

i wish they would have added more variety to the side quest it always seemed to boil down to, hey there is a base on that planet that looks the same as all the other bases and you need to go in and kill everybody, because realistically there isn't anything else you can do, will this isn't bad it just kinda got old after a while, i would also like to see the space fights (i wish i could have been involved in the final space fight for the citadel, that would be cool) also maybe switch it up with like escort missions or something, or if they did add the space element maybe make it so you can raid other ships that would be flying around, or make most of the planets kinda civilized (instead of the typical layout of one little base) so you can visit them and what not, that and kill the civilians and raid the colony if you'd like ;)

i also wish you could change the character to your liking more than you can, or even be able to create your own class where you choose the abilities you can get

and one more thing i would like to see is one all out land battle, doesn't even have to be this game, but it would be cool kinda like the mission where you have to go to the enemy controlled planet, something like that mission but much bigger :D

also

MOAR alien sex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! j/k................kinda

also whats the point of the fan mission on the citadel, I've never bothered to finish it, it kinda made me think he was trying to steal my identity

I've played it quite a bit, but it's too dull and repetitive for me. I love meaty RPGs and this just doesn't really do it for me. And like Newconroer said, the squad members don't seem to have much of any impact. And the combat is pretty boring.

The fan mission is a bit odd. I've come across him twice so far:
the 1st time is easy to find
the 2nd time is after I completed a few missions and had to return to the Citadel to complete a mission. He was at the same place as before but this time ask to take a picture of Shappard once he became a Spectre. Very odd IMO. But I wasn't able to activate this until after completing a mission that required me to return to the Citadel to chat with someone.

ME is alright.. could of done with having a lot more random battle encounters when exploring various planets though, not just the enter mine \ lab, kill everything, leave. Gets boring very quickly. The giant sand worm \ ant thing is kinda cool though, piss easy to kill.. but still.. kinda cool.

there is one genious quote in the game on Noveria that corrupt guy gets arrested by the women she says "see you around the galaxy, i owe you a beer!"

thats basically a homage to Barney from Half Life series of games coz he says that in the first one

as far as i can tell, the guy who's your fan is just something to mix the story up a tiny bit. i ddidnt find that it changed the missions at all. i think you can interact with him like 4 or 5 times before you dont see him any more. thats when i played through as a good aligned character

Update:
It looks like I concluded the Fan assignment. You have to visit him a total of 3 times. You do this by completely at least 1-2 assignments out in the milky way somewhere. Then come back to the market place to meet him. The go back out to do 2 more assignments then come back to the market place of the Citadel. What seems to activate this appears to be the need to come back to the Citadel in order to talk to someone there to finish the assignment. Once you meet him for the 3rd time make 2 additional saves before engaging conversation. There is possibly 2 ways of concluding this.

These photos show the 3rd/final meeting.

I counted a total of 28 assignments so far.

Yeah great game, and plenty of room for improvement on the second one. I personally would like some more variation and detail in the side quests, and have them be a bit more meaningful. For the large part they didn't really offer any nice rewards other than more stuff and more experience, but not really worth the time for me unless it was convenient. The main heart of the game was fantastic though, a gripping and well thought out story and interesting characters and combat and such. If they take their time and make sure the 2nd game is all that it could be, just expand on everything they started, it could be a very nice trilogy indeed. Hopefully it won't remain stagnant.

I found what could be a bug in one of the assignments. There is a second mission you can finish with the doctor at the clinic on the Citadel which reveals someone by the name of Burns. However, in order to get more information about Burns you have to talk to Kohuku who was already dead. I think you need to see the doc on your second return back to the Citadel. Before you take on Kohuku's mission in order to complete the 3rd mission that branches off from the doctor. I don't want to spoil the rest but this is what I was talking about before. If you don't see certain people/places in a certain order you could potentially miss out on other assignments. Not that it matters to the main story line. However, the very same can happen if you advance to far in the main story. IE: Certain assignments are no longer available.

I want more vehicles at least 3 vehicles, i do understand that the ship can only carry little.
I want side quests to be expanded upon, i want possibilities of side quests changing main quests slightly, for example you do a side quest that involves saving someone then later on they help you in a mission, side quests make the main quest easier or more difficult.
