Nah, let it be problems with the die itself.

Please, let it be that. it would be se very sweet. The ideal scenario would be CF Refresh also having serious problems.

Oh boy.

We've been here before, early Pascal also had memory problems that were fixed through a BIOS update... I'm kinda hoping it is more than that, this RTX needs to die and Nvidia can use a lesson in humility.

@trog100 may want to take note.

This isn't incidental, note also the wide variety of issues. Gets me thinking it is more than memory.

How is that justice to anyone, especially consumers, is beyond me. One has to be a sad, miserable AMD tool to hope that people get broken cards instead of working ones.

You must be joking. Everyone including tech media told them not to buy it. And Nvidia undeniably deserves it.
Anyone that sold their pascal card for this garbage deserves it as much as nvidia.

If they deluded themselves through nvidia's lies before launch by not releasing actual performance metrics, then how can you say that the consumer doesn't deserve it? The problem is irrelevant. They suckered themselves into any negative outcome.

Every time an overpriced domestic/german pos car blows up and ruins the owner, it's deserved. They failed to heed the warnings. It's called learning the hard way. Different products + same outcome = me all rosy inside. At least in this case, they will get RMA'd cards or refunds if this blows up into a huge issue (no monetary loss, which means they won't learn, though).

going by this logic, you deserve to die if you happen to eat something that you never thught you'd be allergic to and most people eat and live.should've researched it to see there are cases of people having allergies.
are you serious with the crap that coming out of your mouth, please tell me you're just dicking around.

I ain't laughing. Maybe NV is just too fast and wants to diminish the competitor? On the other hand, RTX is brand new so if this problem ain't caused by the die or the memory but some settings(adjustments) in the Bios maybe they will be able to pull this off and get it fixed. But if you ask me, NV charges so damn much for the RTX cards and with that in my opinion they must be flawless. As we can see they are not so whoever bought them being fast, not reasonable, trusting a company that loves ripping people off their money these customers kind of deserver this. I would have never bought hardware from any company without giving it some thought and wait for issues to come up. And this one is serious.

I wonder why no major site posted a news with this? Maybe because it would harm the sales? Hmmm....
Maybe because it's not as "massive" as the OP thinks? Or because most symptoms can fall under "check your PSU" category (random BSODs, reboots and general instability)?

Most symptoms fall under artifacts, not under crashes. Please read geforce forums again. And I must remember you that the 2080TI is not a 250$ card, it is 1200$, so....

Well I don't think it's the PSU. Links to the threads are there. Most of the guys telling about the artifacts got PSU's 850W and up. One mentioned that his card was checked with few computers and the problem was with all of them.

BTW.
I read some of the posts and it appears that there are people having problems with 2070 too. Telling the card died after four days of using it. Bummer.

Posts popped up on Friday 26 so it is likely we will see something in press today or tomorrow.

Its not like gaming 'journalism' goes on 24/7 365. In addition to that, its not like there have been tens of thousands of 2080ti's sold and actually in use yet. They've just recently been pushed out the door. So even this handful is quite a percentage.

One thing I will say, I don't envy the people that upgraded from a Pascal card. Even though Turing was probably ready a long time ago before launch, maybe nVidia missed something and didn't test the cards fully, or just some people happened to get a low quality batch of GPU/Memory chips, something along those lines.

I hope people will get their money back and nVidia comes clean and does something about it.

Sure as hell I wouldn't be happy if I bought something new, that's just supposed to work, blows up in my face. Especially when it's a £800+ card. Without a discrete GPU, waiting for a replacement or refund.

Part of me still doesn't like the guys that pre-ordered. They're part of the problem with the pricing.

What I'm trying to say is let's not jump the train before we know more. It could be memory, it could be a memory controller on GPU, it could be bad soldering or bad QA on PCB inspection, or NVidia's recent driver update... who knows?

And what I am trying to say, is that this is already large enough simply by going off what you read on the Geforce forums, because the volume of sales of these cards is not astronomical, and it should be a big fat warning sign to anyone currently thinking of buying Turing cards.

Whether or not it made the press is not even relevant. EVGA's hot memory on the 1080 FTW also never made press, but it was a real issue, one that even prompted a quick cooler redesign and thermal pad deliveries to quite a few buyers.

Just as well, this is a real (production) issue and the underlying cause is irrelevant. Nvidia has every opportunity to counter that belief through a public statement. Until then, buyer beware, full capital.

It has nothing to do with brand preference and everything to do with people having white people first world problems. It's delightful. It's like when we got all these refugees in Sweden and people have no idea how to deal with true suffering. Faulty GPUs is really not a problem at all.

But no, AMD literally turn people into literal retards with their crazy foreign physich powers.

I would much rather this is more than memory too. Micron/Crucial doesn’t need the black eye, but Nvidia can weather it.

i am taking note but so far my card seem okay.. i have not played any games with it just played with the clocks and ran benchmarks..

i have crashed it a few times but that is part of finding its limits.. as i say so far it seems okay.. but i will investigate further..
