Max Alarm Temperature - 100C, why?

Is there a reason that I can't setup the GPU temperature for alarm more than 100C?

I have a notebook (Asus G60vx) and in some games like GTA IV the GPU goes over 100C, and I have to hear the alarm thing. But NVidia website says the GPU handles 105.

I don't know, maybe 100C is a lot, but then what can I do? The room temperature is OK. I even have an extra cooler (Notepal) under the laptop. And I also heard that the system has an in-build system to turn off automatically when the temperature is at a risk range.

Should I turn off the RealTemp alarm and trust the system, or just don't play the freaking game?

My energy here is fine. Also that's very not possible for latops, cause they have battery. Is very stable energy.

just because nvidia say it can take 100C, doesnt mean its good for it.

get those temps down below 80C, or your laptop wont last long.

I'll try to bump the GPU alarm temperature up to 105C for the next release of RealTemp. That's hotter than I'd want to run my GPU.

It shouldn't be happening. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact Asus and get it taken care of. :toast:
